Title: using low speed rotary on domestic
Post by: mark turton on May 27, 2013, 11:20:16 pm
am considering using a low speed rotary like a victor sprite on domestic and commercial (diff sized machine and heads to cover both tho.)

but how do you go on re the nooks and crannies surely then i need the extractor with handtool? in which case surely id be better with one or the other, machine wise. as using 2 machines surely slows job down?

going on topics and threads on here - implies the bonnet cleaning can be lot quicker than extraction (but the debate about which cleans best always debated, which gives me reservations about using rotary)

any suggestions?
 :)

A good old fashioned deck scrubber can be used for corners etc then a wipe with a towel or hand mitt.

A pile brush or rake can also be used but can be a little wide to get good purchase.

An doodlebug/octopus tool with a white pad is good on CGD and tiles.

Hi Mark

Rotaries have their place but cannot achieve the depth of clean that HWE can, simply isn't the flushing action.

I sometimes use both.

HWE can be pretty simple on domestic, using a rotary particularly with furniture about is much more awkward.

Cheers

Doug

Most of the domestic "Fusioneers" & LM'ers I know carry a spotting machine or smaller extractor for spills and problem areas they cant access or to quickly flush of loosened soil on a really heavily soile traffic lane. Nothing fancy. A small Puzzi or similar spec. Rest of the time they achieve results acceptable to themselves and their customers.

The biggest 2 factors that hold me to lm , are the lower costs/higher profits , and the lower wear and tear on my body.

David Beckham was not the best footballer , but by far the richest.

Like anything in life you have to believe in it, if I believed in LM cleaning I would sell my Truckmount tomorrow as LM cleaning is marketing genius but I was brought up on HWE it's hard to swap over when you have got it down to a fine art (laughing at myself now)

Yonks ago when dry fusion was just being launched I attended a NCCA meeting with a presentation by an Aistralian gentlemen who was bringing Dry Fussion to the Uk the question was raised on how it cleans into the corners and his reply was.... "The corners never get walked on so don't get dirty"

On  a side note just won a nice rotory on eBay £42 :)

I have 2 victor sprites and these are 400 rpm, a slow machine is about 180 rpm. I do use the sprites for bonnet cleaning but be careful at that speed as you will get a lot of friction if not kept damp.
As for ther debate there is no debate it is fact that hot water extraction is a far deeper clean. Every system has its uses, I do bonnet and encap but knowing full well it is not as thourough a clean as hwe.
Most of my commercials I will post extract bonnet anyway.
