Due to move house soon and concerned if I'm on a water meter how much it's going to cost me per week running my ro for water..
On average what will I expect to pay i am using about 1000 litres a week of pure water???
-
i use an ro on a 1:2 ratio.
for me to make 1000lts of pure it costs me just under £10. including waste cost.
i only use about 400lts a day so for a week looking around £30 for water.
but for the money you get back from it, its just pennies really!

what RO you got?
easy way to find out is to see how long it takes to fill 100ml of pure water, then if that takes 2 minutes, then on the waste time the water for 2 minutes and see what water you have in the jug.
if there is 200ml then its 1:2
if its 300ml its 1:3 etc etc
so for me every 1000lts i make 2000lts go down the drain,
you can get a discount from waterboard for the waste

just found a bill that we had, its old. have to try and find a up to date one.
from 17th November 2011 to 18th May 2012:-
total water charge was £89.31
total sewerage charge was £113.96
total bill of £203.27.
that was just starting with the window cleaning business, and a house with 2 adults, 3yr old and pets!

Your figures are pretty much the same as mine James.
No such thing as the water board anymore though bud.
Don't pay sewerage-get a submeter

angilan water meter rates are:-
water - £1.52 per 1000lts
sewage - £1.65 per 1000lts.
now if you read my post i use an RO that has a ratio of 1:2 so 1000lts pure:2000lts waste so in total 3000lts used.
water - £1.52x 3 = £4.56
sewage is charged at 90%
sewage - £4.46
so for me to make 1000lts of pure water it costs me £9.02
so get the facts right before you comment!

some people are worried that it costs alot being on a water meter and dont want a really large bill coming through the door after 6 months! as it is sent out every 6 months!

Angling water now switched to annual billing. I have got my first bill since changing to wfp in June. I have been metering my filtration system for a few months so hopefully get a discount on waste.

If thats how you feel about business expenses I'll pass all my bills on to your good self and you can keep the receipts. How does that sound?

Intresting read.
My place too small for my ro setup.
I am on a water metre.
But setup at parents who aren't.
Out of intrest any of you use aqua-dapter or 1mm
Pencil jets?
I use both.
I realise hi flow rate is the key but with said devices
Mentioned and if you guys aren't uzing.
I bet you could cut yout water usage by at least 20-30%.
Appologies if old news to yourselves

No notmuch really. I use trolley and barrels about 6 a day so not expecting big bill. Considering buying tank setup in van but lugging barrels around cheaper than gym membership. ;D.
