Clean It Up

Recently noticed that certain leaded windows on my round when done WFP are getting runs down from the lead strips (although, weirdly, no complaints!).
There seems to be no problem when the lead is in a diamond pattern but when they have horizontal & vertical strips they can look horrendous!
I've noticed that up close the lead seems to be patchy (vertical is all shiny but horizontal has dull areas which seems to correspond to the runs)
Anybody else had this or know why this happens?
Thanks
Paul

It is the lead oxidising the pure water accelerates this.

Any ideas what to do about this or will the windows just never look all that great?

I do a few places that get the same. Why some leaded windows are more prone than others, I don't know. The odd thing is that the houses that have that problem all have mock wood upvc frames.
I spray a caustic based hard surface cleaner (strong arm, g101, etc) on either the brush head or on the glass. What ever you do make sure it's diluted at least 20 - 1 and if you spray or use too much you'll be rinsing for ages. Also, do not let it dry on the glass.
