Anyone else have constant thoughts of packing it in?
Im on my 10th year (i think) in this game, and with being 27 years of age, ive still got plenty of years ahead of me.
Ive friends who have gone travelling etc, and to be honest, I think im just a bit bored.
Ive had a serious enquiry from someone who is intrested in buying my company, and im debating it.
Trouble is, then what? The money wouldnt last forever and then be stitched ;D

i travelled and worked abroad til i was 34. Loved it. My lad leaves school next year, and when hes settled in what hes doing, im taking 2 months a year off travelling again.
My lad wants to work in the snow resorts in winter, (hes a snowboarder) im encouraging him. I had the time of my life. Lived and worked in America, France, Mainland Spain, Balearics, Canaries, Andorra.
Life is for living, while i was doing all this, my mates got married, got a mortgage, then got divorced, lost the house, and wished they did what i did!!!

Sounds wicked Mick.
I went Australia last year for a holiday, and would love to go back for longer.
Decisions decisions...
-
I worked in timeshare, best way to see the world. All my mates i worked with have been in Phuket for 15 years now.
I cant wait to start travelling again, theres a big world out there to see!!

Read 4 hour work week by Tim Ferris it puts these thoughts into perspective.
When I was 30 I went travelling for a year ended up in Australia and got back 4 years later.
I got back right in the middle of all the banks going bust and everyone saying stay in Oz this country is in a right mess.
It took 3 weeks to find a decent job.
Nothing had changed when I got back within a week I was back playing in the same football team with the same lads.
You'll be seriously missing out if you don't go.
;D

Don't worry about the money you can get work and your overheads will be next to nothing while you're gone.

That would be great in theory, but finding that person who you could trust to keep things running smoothly would be difficult.
What I was thinking was selling up for say £20,000 (for example) and just visiting as much of the world as possible untill your broke ;D

27? No ties? Go for it.
When you sell go for the biggest amount you can get at once. Don't trust the I'll give you say £5K now and £15k after a year sort of deal. Go for 15K up front done deal.
Bird in the hand ...

Hi Cliff. Yeah I have built up a very good compact round, which I would be sad to let go.
I enjoyed building the business, so having to do it again wouldnt be a chore I dont (providing money is kept back to support yourself)
Im gonna spend today coming up with a figure for my business, whilst my employee is out working :D
(the fact that im hungover has played a part in todays decision also) :D
-
Hi James
I have started up 4 times now it's not as bad as you think.
In fact I think it gets easier in some ways 'cos you have experience and mistakes and lessons learned.
I went on holiday to Ireland when I was 29 fell in love with the place - put a deposit on a rental house and we were back within the month everything sold up!
Never regretted it.
I am on my forty something postal address now and loads of the lads I went to school with are in the same town, still at the same jobs.
Not knocking them if they're happy but most have regretted not taking the plunge and the risk of doing something different than the old formula of steady job, mortgage, kids.

I personally wouldn't hang on to it.
I rented a house out when I lived abroad and it was a pain.

do something different where you are, get a new hobby/missus, the grass isn't always greener, be a shame to go half way round the world to find in the end, it's just as boring over there as here

The 'shame' would be in not finding out for yourself.
