Title: Insurance Scam!!!
Post by: Positivity on May 16, 2013, 06:15:44 pm
Had a very slight bump several months ago.
Damage to the van I recorded as negligible so didn't claim.
The other vehicle (TBH I don't know how they are allowed to drive when all they can see of the world is what you would see peering through a letterbox or as a tank driver) anyway the damage to her vehicle was a cracked front indicator lamp.
She was alone in the car wouldn't accept my insurance details etc. until I had spoken with her husband so she phoned him on her mobile.
Husband phoned me the same night saying he would be claiming as the damage was worse than it looked ??? ???
Got a call from the Insurance Fraud team today.
They have submitted a whiplash claim for the husband - his wife and the TWO PASSENGERS!!!!!!
Insurance guy was asking how a collision which results in a cracked indicator can result in 4 people having whiplash.
Think I should have claimed myself ;D ;D ;D It would have helped pay my insurance premium which has skyrocketed!

I had 1 couple of years ago, sat behind this numptey at a roundabout, he started to pull across then stopped halfway across it, I just tapped the back of his battered old rover. Not a mark on mine, not sure if I even touched the back of his.Cost my insurance 4 1/2 grand for 'whiplash' and repairs to his car. His car wasn't even worth a couple of hundred quid. Just hope I meet Mr crash for cash in the future,to justify my premium going!

I think some more regulation is required to reign the ambulance chasing solicitors in.
When I had an accident last year from someone going into the back of my van at a roundabout at about 5mph I got fed up with the constant emails, txts and phonecalls from accident claim companies.
I made it clear at the time that I was in no way injured but these claim companies make it sound as if the money is there waiting for you.
So im not surprised people are trying it on to claim compensation that they don't deserve.

The insurance companies are as bad, my van was hit last year and I got a
quote to fix it for £220.
The insurance company sent me to their recommended repair shop who charged £1100.
That's why all are premiums are going up and up.
