Title: Are you purefreedom hot users happy ?
Post by: james stanley on May 14, 2013, 08:40:58 pm
I have been using my 9kw purefreedom hot system evrery day for the last 3 years, really happy with it and the help the guys in grimsby always offer when I face problems. The only negative is that the leisure batteries need replacing about every 9 months as the heater useage hammers them.  Also the cost of the diesel I suppose, can't work out how much it's costing a day to run ? anyone know?  are you happy with your investment guys or do you wish you went down the gas bottle route? :)

Cant see the point in the hot water personally, if you can make £200-300 a day with cold then why waste money on the hot set up

They use between 0.19 litres to 0.9 litres per hour depending on heating demand. The rest is guess work. In the worst situation it will cost you a little less than £1.30 an hour to run on diesel, but I doubt you will be anywhere near that figure. I would have thought that 50p to 75p an hour would be more like it as that heater will just tick over with a single operator. But again that depends on how hot your water is.

The fact that your leisure battery doesn't last long indicates to me that the unit restarts numerous times during the day as you are drawing less heat than the unit produces on minimum.

i must admit they do look good these pure freedom hot systems but im happy using a cold system.less hassle and cost and does me fine for my work.

i also dont see the point in hot water when i can make a good living with cold.as most of my work is maintenance window cleaning.for filthy fascias and conny roofs i spray with virosol and hook up to customers outside taps if available.

You might as well walk around with a big sign on your back saying "please undercut us put us out of business"

Please stop.

if you had a lot of commercial where you run the water without shutting off i think they would be good to use, however with domestic i'm forever turning my aquadapter on and off, this is not good for the diesel heaters as the burner will eventually coke up and cost more than a gas heater to replace,

only advantage i see of diesel over gas is drawing the diesel from the vehicles fuel tank so you in theory wont ever run out when on a job

the gas heater is lighter (the pure freedom heater weighs 45kg),
gas is cheaper to run
gas is cheaper to buy 200 quid vs £3000
batterys cost 4 quid for gas you need leisure batterys for the diesel

Dazmond i know you arnt very open minded and you always think the way you do things is the best and only way it should be done, you once thought trad is better than wfp and a trolley is better than van mount etc etc

eventually you will post up saying hot is better than cold, it is, first cleans conny roofs even maintainence cleans the lot

When did I say that was my earnings  ???
I only set my current round up in August so i'm nowhere near earning that kind of money but it's pretty common knowledge that you could potentially earn that much, my point was that I can't see how using hot water will improve your earnings, it's just another expense you could do without.

Your missing the point. Where did I say 'your' earnings?

Do you have a split charger and are they Deep Cycle batteries?
I use hot every day, but i used cold for a whole day to test. Brimmed the van with diesel on both days, 5 miles difference in travel and i was £5 better off on the cold day, give or take a few pence. Its not the most scientific way, but gives you an idea.
