Title: New Gardiner's clamps.
Post by: 8weekly on May 14, 2013, 03:58:29 pm
I had a false start yesterday as the glue didn't set. I am told it was my fault, but I'm not so sure. Anyway, I bought some epoxy glue in B&Q and they are now stuck fine. They have totally rejuvenated my CLX. It was knackered before! Really smooth movement and a good grip when clamped.

So, for me, the clamps are a resounding success. Not sure about the glue, but I wasn't buying glue so not too bothered.

I am in the market for a new pole soon. Not decided yet between a CLX22 or SLX25, but for me now the Gardiners pole is practically a no brainer.

the green has to mix with the pink, this is the best glue that you can get but if you dont mix it or one nozzel is blocked it doesnt set at all

We do still sell the Acrylic pink/green glue - http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/hi-strength-acrylic-glue-two-pack-rapid-adhesive.html and, as said, you do need to make sure that the pink and green element are both well mixed.

However with the clamp upgrade kits we are supplying a much higher performing flexible black epoxy glue. This is ideally suited to binding the clamp to carbon due to the flex present on both parts during use. This is amazing glue, but it does need to be very well mixed in the pouch before using as if not enough of the clear hardener has mixed with the black part it will not harden off. With this glue it is more important to be mixed well than on the pink/green glue which only needs a basic mix together.
