Hi all
Just launched my new website and have been messing around with adwords. I have a twitter feed, linked it to a facebook page and all that stuff, could someone let me know if the website has been built ok by my web designer and what I can do to improve the organic listing if it is just a matter of time before it starts to move up the rankings a little bit. I dont expect to be top of google but would like to be near the front page!

Fair comment, going to work on that over the next few days, I was thinking more about the structure ie is it 'google friendly'

Its a nice site, but its not been optimized for mobile devices which is a must these days.

I agree with Steve re mobile devices.
Increasingly more people are using their tablets and smart phones for everything. We've certainly found that and made the change.
Maybe worth getting yourself an analytics account and you can see for yourself.

if you type in barnsley carpet cleaners a ad will come up on the first page with the no 872204 if you click the link it goes to the website and all the nos are mine .
Guess what they all ring his no they dont even click on the link people to busy to click

so is this something I can do, I have got google anylitics set up and he has put the code on the pages. Is this a piece of code he needs to put in, i have viewed my website on my phone and it all looks ok

just checked from my tablet, site looks ok. It also looks as if you have analytics already setup, so nothing else for you to do.

so is it now just a 'watch this space' sort of deal or is there something else I can do to get it going organically. I have just done a search for cleaning services in Coalville (my local town) and except for the PPC I am not on any of the first 10 pages!

That's because it takes time one of my pages has taken 12 months. And mine cost for two years a total of £47

There is unfortunately no quick way to the top, it takes time.
It's going be a case of reviewing your site on regularly to see how it can be improved. Making it relevant for what you do and for your geographical area I believe is one of the keys.

A list of the areas you cover is a great way of getting to the right place in organic listings. I ncan't see straight away what areas you cover which means Google won't either. You have to remember that people search for "carpet cleaning in xxxx" most often.
Also the title pages for example "carpet cleaning page" is called "carpet cleaning | company name" we must remember that people will very rarely search for our business name, if they do they will find us anyway. Location and service is a great title page name.
That's just a couple of things I can see at the moment - only little tweeks but can really make the difference.
