Is it just me or do you sometimes find it hard to get motivated!! And when you are your own boss it's sometimes to easy to sack it off?
Does anyone have anyway of motivating themselves and been a strict boss lol?

I just do one or two jobs just to make sure I've at least done something. Once or twice though I've thought sod it and driven to a local beauty spot or somewhere scenic along the coast and gone for a long walk.
Usually by the next day I'm back working as normal.
-
Lol sod xbox ps3 FTW its free online .
Just had a goodish game myself went 62 - 4
AGR / STEALTH CHOPPER / WARTHOG could have done a bit better .
-
Just have a day off.
You're the boss.
An hour here or there is crap.
Take a day off.
Really enjoy not working. Get it out if your system.
When you go back again you'll be right as rain.
If you're doing this more than once a month you need to give yourself a kick up the arse but every now & then is cathartic.
-
i call it a man day have the day off and have a man day.pub xbox movie see a mate have a curry put your feet up go to work the next day lol.
-
My mates take the because I only work 9-3 but its hard work !! And they forget I work through breaks Etc! I don't have dinner I jus work through it lol
But nothing worse than them days were you carnt be arsed at all

You're a young fella, you can do what you want, a day off here and there wont hurt.
Wait til you're married with kids and you've got to make 2 and a half grand a month just to pay the bills, you wont need motivating then mate, it's necessity.

If it's physical or you're a bit under the weather, rest; it'll do you good.
If it's in your head, change your thoughts. They came into your head easily enough, so you should be able to get rid of them.
You can also trick yourself. Tell yourself you're going to work but having an easy day. Do two jobs and promise yourself you're going to stop for a break. You'll be surprised how often you decide you don't want the break, yet, because you're back in the groove. It's you thinking you can't be bothered that stops you and the thought of a break that gets and keeps you going.
Just by physically moving helps and it's funny how much you can do when you've already told yourself you can't be bothered.
Saying that, I struggle to get motivated ;D.
-
i find it helps to be organised the evening before,
water / fuel in van
worksheets printed out
envelopes / stamps in van
sandwiches done
customers texted / called night before if you have to (only a few thankfully)
oh and stay off here in mornings (still learning that one ;D)
im only on here as waiting for missus as taking her to hospital for a scan on sore ear - last time they were off hand and nasty to her so going with her and ready for an arguement if i have to :o

146 MPH winds here and monsoon type rain. So I'm not going out today. However, started to make myself comfortable for a day dossing on the sofa and watching Jeremy Kyle, when the phone goes and some old biddy swears she booked a clean today at 9 am!! :o She's 87 and she didn't make a booking, but went and did the job just to keep her happy. €75 cash payment. So now back home since about 12pm and will have to watch JK on ITV 2 instead. :D
I get those can't be bothered days, and as a rule, don't bother! ;D
-
The post about been organised sounds good I will try that!!
And the post about needing to make £2500 just to pay the bills, I want you to know I am never going to marry anyone I'm to tight!! My bill ATM add upto a modest £220. Month :D and £100 of that is insurance -.-

I would only add that perhaps you set a minimum target for days when you just cant face it i.e. £50 then home

Make the most of not having to pay rent / mortgage in that case cos before you know it you'll be paying real expenses like the rest of us.

I dont plan on moving out any time soon ;D KAVOS in 39 days aswell

to be honest i very rarely get low motivation days unless im not well and even then i normally get out and work! ;D ;D ;D
obviously as you get older you WILL get responsiblities, bills to pay and holidays to pay for and evenings out at nice restaurants, nice cars, clothes etc. ;D ;D ;D
i usually get most of my work cleaned in 3 weeks a month so it allows me some chill out time before next months onslaught.i also work in most weathers so i very rarely get behind these days.
also when you have a good round you dont want to get behind because you get used to a certain lifestyle and enjoy making money and dont want to let your customers down.
being ultra organised with worksheets, invoices printed, round software and decent carbon poles all help as well.
look after yourself helps.eat decent food(if you can afford it!).keep boozing for weekends if your a drinker and give up smoking if you do. ;D ;D ;D
if your having trouble motivating yourself ask yourself why?self motivation needs to be strong when you work for yourself if you want to be successful.
best wishes
dazmond

Having kids is an expensive hobby!

I never suffer from lack of motivation..work earns money and i like money.
Also i hate work going behind so if i had a sneaky day off id have to play catchup weekends which is my time off.
-
That's included my £30 a week board and lodge, food and a roof over my head!
I wear all the best clothes, gym 5 times a week and on a strict low carbs diet ready for kavos.
It only happens once or twice a month when I carnt be arsed working! I work all Saturdays and price jobs Whenever they come in! I'm not your average lazy 20 year old, as you probley understand.

The banter with 11 lads, 10days all inclusive will be class anyway! If we meets girls them it adds to a great holiday ... I won't hold my breath.
We all keep playing pranks on each other before we have even set off !! For example if you type in gumtree "African grey " free to good home ... You will find my mates phone number and a discription of a bird he had never owned and is not for sale hahahaha! He's had over 15 calls today !!
