hi guys wondered if anyone knew where to get a heavy duty heat resistant extension cable. it will be used for a magma inline.
?? :-\

m,ark, i use a standard one, it is fine. just make sure you totally unravel all cable

Standard , 1.5mm core should be ok with 3kw , unravel like mentioned and make sure your plug connection terminals and wire ends are free from oxidation .
If you really want to be cool ... get one with 2.5mm core , but some by the meter from your local electrical supply store and put a head and plug on .

thanks guys - pn the same subject because i dont have a remote would running the machine and then unplugging it from extension whilst the 3 motors on machine are running cause a problem?
and would i need to prime pump again doing this do you think?
the reason is ive got 2 large houses to do in near future and was thinking that if i could cut out from upstairs (machine at foot of stairs)
so i cold make perodic checks on water clean and dirty so i dont bugger motors.

get a plug remote from b & q they are peanuts these days

Running a turbo ? from one extension cord , you would really need the 2.5mm
.. and check that the plug is not getting overly hot in the socket ..
But you might not get away with turning the machine off/on from the socket switch or unplugging the extension ... the startup surge from three motors at the one time will likely trip a switch ... but not always .
Plug remotes like paul suggests are likely a better option .

A few years ago i used to DJ. At larger venues or outdoor events we would be using alot of Power Amps sucking lots of power through extension cables. Normal extension cables couldnt carry the power required safely therefore we used these;

Ideally they need to be used with a transformer although you could cut the ends off and attach a normal 3 pin plug.

I tried the B&Q remote switches with my Powerflight it was a waist of time kept tripping the main switch.
