as title
only use a printer say once a week to print some invoices that it.
ive gone through so many printers in the past few years.
they never really break down just lose print quality really quick!
and yes ive done all the maintainence things on the printers etc ...
anyone actually recommened a good printer for under £150??
-
HP laser jet p1005 or its new alternative. Printed literally thousands of leaflets over 3 years and still going strong!

I have an Epson SX 205 combined printer / scanner purchased for £50 from Tesco about 4 years ago. Does all office printing, cartridge pack (4) is a fiver. No issues. Previously an Epson 800 photo quality printer bought for £100 12 years ago which lasted 8 years with no issues.
Suggestion: Buy an Epson
-
epson sx235 , cheap as chips tough as an ox . takes copy cartridges which also can be bought on ebay as cheap as chips
they really are dickinsons real deal
also makes a cool peeping noise as it kicks the paper down ,as if its clearing its throat

I'm still running an Epsom C42. Can't fault it, its abut 10 years old. £1.50 for a cartridge.
-
i bought one of those real cheapy all in one hp printers from tesco 4 or 5 years ago with the ink
for £29 :) its not brilliant but its been totally reliable unlike my last epson from pc world for £130.
also if you get your cartridges from datron on ebay you can get original inks for less than half price.

i bought a canon printer, photocopier and scanner for £35 about a year ago.it was on special offer with 2 free ink cartridges.
i print worksheets, invoices and statement of accounts on it every week with no problems.my last canon printer lasted 2 years before giving up the ghost.that one was about £65.
you dont need to spend over a £100 on a quality printer.the canon ones are FAST as well!! ;) :) :)
just looked at some of the other posts on this thread.looks like you lads have got a proper bargain.the ink for these canon printers are about £27 for a colour and black cartridge!! :o :o

They should be the cheapest printers, i think they also do a deal whereby the printer is free if you buy so many cartridges.

No need to buy the genuine and ridiculously expensive cartridges Dazmond.
http://www.prink.co.uk/
I get mine from here at less than 1/5th the cost, last for ages too aslong as your not printing photos.

Yes that's important in a printer. It isn't a printer if t doesn't 'clear it's throat'
-

yep, my printer "sure has a pretty mouth"

I pay £20 for my hp cartridge.
When it's empty I refill with a cheap kit.
Sometimes I get 8 or nine top ups from one cartridge.
-
Epson SX535 all in one. Buy from Argos & also purchase their 3 year cover (less than £20). When the printer fails, for any reason whatsoever, just take back for replacement. ;)
You can buy compatible inks for this model too, oh, and it's wireless.

They did a report on watchdog the other day, and they worked out that the price of ink used in printer cartridges costs over £2000 per litre !

I've got the previous model to this one http://www.printerland.co.uk/Samsung-ML-3710ND-P112408.aspx (http://www.printerland.co.uk/Samsung-ML-3710ND-P112408.aspx) - and having printed just shy of 60,000 pages, without a problem, I can say it's pretty reliable!
It's normally £152 but you get £70 cash back, plus a 5,000 page toner cartridge AND a 5 year warranty.
So it's a pretty good deal as well.
