If you take the brush head off you could get one of those pipe tubes that plumbers use.

ano but its bit of a faff on isnt it:/ someone must do some kind of metal lock build in like a U shape that drills into the wood... people could probly still nick it if they tried but would slow them right down!!

I carry 2 poles most of the time.
The one I use most I keep in front of the door that I leave open to drag the reel out.
The other one I keep behind the door that stays closed.
Unless you actually poke your head around the door so you're actually inside my van you'd never know there was one there.
Not secured but out if sight-perhaps slightly better than showing your wares to any passers by...

i was thinking about attaching a electric fence mechanism to it, but im stupid enough to forget about it ;D

Put a sign up to remind yourself.

It is likely only a window cleaner would nick your poles. Buy Brodex and if they know what they are on about, they will leave it in your van. If they don't and they nick it, you have the last laugh! ;D

I had a few close encounters and had van ports fitted into back door, now all I do is pull the hose reel out and stick the hoselock connector straight onto the van port

Stick a high decibel rape to the van and attach the pin to the pole. If someone goes to take the pole the alarm will go off and panic them and alert you.
Simon.

come and live in south Devon nothing gets nicked ;D

My thoughts entirely !
I always work with the van doors open - I drive a pickup !

I actually live 2 mins outside the nicest high street in England "yarm"
It's a shame I also live 10mins away from Middlesborough haha

I have some old brodex pole hose which i have one end connected to the outlet on my pumpbox and the other end connected to hose reel .
It allows me to shut and lock my truck it will work out the back of van doors as well , Give me a shout if you need some i am only about 20 mins away from you . Mike

Trouble is the scrappies like those poles.

I have the hose reel outside the van and close the rear doors. If I lock my van with the back doors open all the doors lock except the back doors. So I can keep my cash box in the front and access the back no problem.
There are a couple of areas where I do lock everything up though. I'm also aware of the scrappies and keep an eye on the van when I hear them. I still have a couple of Unger Ali poles and a step ladder in the van that would appeal to them.
I once saw a van that had its open back doors damaged by a gust of wind. This is probably the main reason why I keep them closed. On the coast the wind gusts can be quite severe.

i work with every door lock except the back 2, think i am going to ask my mate who is a welder to come up with a locking device and i will post it on here! i carnt believe there isnt already one

just have your( pump, drain ,and fill )connectors under bumper of van that way u can have your doors shut all the time easy. ;D
-
Have a vauxhall /traffic type van. Pull the hose you need out the back and let the doors come together, but not shut. Lock the van as norm and the doors cannot be separated until unlocked.

This site won't let me upload my pics of my van,if one of the chaps on here will let me email my photos to them , then I will be able to show you what I've had done.
