I have approaching 1000 regular window cleaning customers on the books. I am contemplating mailshoting them to offer a domestic cleaning service. Has anyone ever done this and if so how did it go? What were the take up rates, what can I charge, was it worth it?

i started a housework&ironing biz as a sideline not long ago-works rolled in aplenty - i set it going to find work for a mum of 1 of my window cleaners
i charge 9 quid an hour ,9-10 seems the going rate, that includes materials and hoover, iron , i pay her 7quid per hour
im very lucky in that the woman iv got loves ironing + cleaning, its pretty rare to find a happy skilled ironer .iv now a secondary backup cleaner who unfortunately can only basic iron
one thing,be careful who you take on as customers, you dont want old letches or religious nuts and it wants to be you that is the person who meets them first off

Cheers Bobby, what sort of take up did you get from your existing window cleaning clients?

i havnt tried them- mainly cos my Mrs Mop cant drive so her "round" is on foot ,a radius of a mile from home
i made up a cart sack barrow for her to carry the gear to and from each job.
