Title: Ozone machine arrived today
Post by: Russ Chadd on May 01, 2013, 08:29:20 pm
So i took a punt on one of the Ebay ozone machines...

Here it is... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190800855413?_trksid=p5197.c0.m619

Took about a week to be delivered from Poland and thankfully my neighbour signed for it while i was out working today, the machine came wrapped up in bubble wrap and once unwrapped it looked very impressive.
The instructions are sadly in German but looking at the control panel its all very self explanatory, 0 -120 min timer, two power switches 5g/h each ( both switched on gives 10 g/h) and a hold switch for continues operation.

You have to remove the casing in order to install the plates which takes only 5 minutes, the only printed English documentation which comes with the machines is a picture showing you where to install the plates.
Once i had installed the plates and screwed the casing back together it was time to throw the power switch, i set the unit to half power 5g/h and it fired up, straight away i could smell ozone and the plate was glowing a blue colour...

Its early days but first impressions suggest a well made machine... powerful and very reasonably priced at £250 delivered

Sadly a 3 pin UK power cable is not included... oh well its a trip to Craplins tomorrow!

I did ask

"if for any reason the unit becomes faulty within the 24 months, what happens?
Do you arrange a courier to collect and simply exchange the unit for another one? "

Answer : yes, or send parts, or repair.

warranty - 24 months (door to door)

Stuck the ozone generator in the bathroom last night for 10 mins... went down stairs this morning and the smell of ozone was still very noticeable.
I really need a challenge... the next car i clean which has been smoked in would be perfect.

Russ has it got a pipe attachment on it. When i do vehicles i leave the machine out side as there is not enough oxygen in the car. I pipe the ozone through the window.

Hi Paul

No it doesnt have a pipe attachment, i suppose you could make some kind of add on piece which would slip over the front  to allow you to attach a hoses?
Wouldnt running the engine with the blowers on be enough to drawer in fresh air and re circulate?

Excuse my ignorance but what does an ozone

Where would you need to use it?      ??? ???

Russ it is funny to see that you bought it from Poland while people from Poland buy Carpet cleaning  equipment and chemicals from Uk because everything is cheaper here  ;D

I've just ordered one too! ready for a real horror of a job coming up for the social services :o! but i,ve gone for the higher output machine 14000 mg it's £319 with free postage. it's cheaper than getting my old one repaired.

                                        all the best

I have just been contacted by a manufacturer who had seen these on Ebay and purchased one for evaluation.
I'm afraid it is not pretty reading.
The just of it is that it does not produce the amount of Ozone advertised. The one they received had no earthing to the case making it dangerous.
The ceramic plates inside are Chinese and can give off Nitrous Oxide as a by product.
They have reported this to trading standards as they believe them to be dangerous and do not comply with CE certification.
Anyone who has purchased one let me know and I'll put you in touch and send you his findings.

I bought a couple of the pro series from here a few years ago.
http://www.maxblasterusa.com/Ozone_Generator_Products.html

They are still going well, just remember you will get hit with import duties.

The true is that the good machine you wish to use just for cars should cost around 1000, for the rooms around 2500-3000.
there is too many that you can class as a toys

I'm going to America soon. If I buy one of these and stick it in my luggage, will I still have to pay import duty? If I don't tell them I have it I mean.

Never bought anything of high value in the states so not sure...

Very interesting that John have used mine on a couple of occasions, my suspicions on the amount of ozone produced have just been confirmed in the above! Have not found it to be very effective at all…. Mine does have earthing to the case as I nearly ripped it off when removing cover to install plates.

I thought all ozone produced nitrous oxide as a by product? unless they are running on pure oxygen?or if they have no metal in the generation chamber?  I'll lock my ex wife in a room with it she can do with a dose of laughing gas!  ;D

A friend of mine has one and it doesn't smell of Ozone at all, it smells like chlorine dioxide which is a sort of eggy bleach smell.
