what soap/detergent do you use on block paving before pressure cleaning?
also when do you use a weed killer, before cleaning or after?
-
You need to weed kill about a week before, but I think you need a licence to weed kill in a commercial situation. You just need a pressure washer with a decent flow 15lpm minimum 3000psi minimum and a turbo nozzle as a basic setup.

I use Nivea as it replenishes all the lost oils in the block...helping it keep young looking.

cheers! i usually weed kill after i have blasted every thing out, then go over it again just rinsing excess off! then obviously i leave a day to dry go back and sand/seal it. Had no complaints so far:)

What weed killer are you using if you do it after?
-
i couldnt tell you but i was advised to do it this way when buying it! i havent got any yet because my outside pressure cleaning jobs start next thursday

Are you not washing weed killer into the drains doing this?

i ment this year! i worked throughout last summer.
i was meaning i havent ordered any weed killer, sealers, sand etc yet haha

There are no weedkillers on the market that would work the way you are using them. I suggest you contact your supplier and check his recommendation. If what he has told you is correct i would sack him as he doesn't know what he is talking about.

well im not joking last year i had no idea of where to start so asked alot of advice from people etc and it was a guy i buy my sealers from who told me!!!
And to be fair to him i did over 5 block paving driveways last year, all local to me and they still all look in perfect condition now.
Obviously from the comments above i have seen its suppose to be done before pressure cleaning then?
thanks Adam

Yeah, I'm with Chris Scott on this one.
Weedkilling is done beforehand, weeds have to absorb the killer for it to work.
Doing it after is just a waste of material

I think your all talking rubbish!
I saw a man on the telly last week doing it out of a little bottle!!! You just touch a bit of the weed with some Gel and they die :P :P :P
Then you buy this shake & Vac stuff for your lawn! You just sprinkle it on, some frogs run around on it and it all turns green in a week ??? ??? ???
