Massive thanks to Russ Chadd for putting the time and effort into not only taking time out of the TACCA day to video and photograph the event but also to knock this Extremely good promo video of the day.

It looks a good machine and well priced. The problem with fixed rather than floating heads, like the RX20, is they tend to loose contact with the carpet where it is uneven which gives it a tendency to skip off and leave the carpet wet where contact has been lost. We ran the RX20 over the area done by the T-Rex and it look visibly better and considerably drier. It is not dissimilar to the RDM.

It would have been interesting to see how the t rex had worked in conjunction with Simon's machine but the guys from Woodbridge were visibly deflated once the rx-20 had gone over the area they had already done and you could see a massive improvement in appearance.

The problem with the T-Rex is the vac slots are way too wide and with five of them you loose a lot of vac performance. The RX20HE has five smaller vac slots that focuses the suction for more making it a lot more efficient. It would also be better with just three, not five jets so that you get a better balance between how much moisture is being put down and how much of it is being picked up.

Have to say great video Russ, really should give up the day job!  ;D Not impressed with the T-Rek on the grand scale of things! Like Simon said fixed head is a poope design and the fixed head even worse! RX20 wins again and kets face it they HM tried to top it with the RDM but just didn’t quite work for the same reasons.

To be fair Simon it would do attached to your machine.

Post by: derek west on May 01, 2013, 08:29:10 am
its a shame you didn't hook up the trex so we could compare both attached to the same machine. that would of been a fairer appraisel of rx vs trex. i think rx connected to 30k vs trex connected to 6k (i think) is a tad unfair if comparing the rotarys.

i was impressed with the trex regardless and a very nice looking machine.

Agree with the two comments above................It's a pity that a company has been showing a good product and been unfairly gazzumped by a machine costing ten times as much whether deliberately or otherwise

Just put my two penneth in, as relatively new guy to the carpet an upholstery cleaning business, I was impressed with the event and the experts showing us how it should be done. I also met some great lads and the help and support offered to me was just fantastic,
So thanks to all there who offered there knowledge without being cajoled into passing it over, In particular Morgan, Mark, and Russ,
and I look forward to any future training events.

Robert, it wasn't done on purpose just that people wanted to see Simons machine in action. Unfortunately there was only one suitable area of carpet to demo on.

whats un fair about completely different machines aimed at completely different customers, i really don't get this, if woodbridge have built there electric truckmount to compete for the titan market then there nuts . if they have built it to tempt portable owners into safely entering the truckmount fraternity then its proved itself at the show to be a worthy contender and ive all ready spoke to a couple of guys who are singing there praises.
simon showing off the power of the titan was a great spectacle to watch, just as seeing the t-rex in action was, just as Jamie and the multitude of encapping machines, all fantstic to watch, fantastic to have a go with and all aimed at different markets. The diversity of this day is what set it apart and what made it so enjoyable to all who came.
Robert please don't agree with me and then twist my words. Jim and James should have chatted to Simon and asked him to try out the T-Rex. The  TACCA event is a coming together, not a competition. we all use different chems, we all use different machines, we all use different techniques, and we always will.

I didn't think it was deliberate John, Simon has become a different person over the past couple of years and a great help to others and giving them the opportunity to see his powerfull machine in action.
It's been fascinating to observe the changes on forums and in some people over time. It used to be very defensive but it's changed dramatically with some of the best known names happily contributing their knowledge and advice to others.
Paul Moss is another guy who seems to have taken on a new calm persona and it was good to see him welcome Judy to the TACCA  day.
Me........I hate to admit it, but I'm now old and no longer able to work the way I could even a couple of years ago so I will have a grumpy day now and again.

Derek
You posted while I was typing, so to clarify........I made a simple comment based on my observation of what was reported and unfortunately our common language allows us to take several meanings from statements.
I have no need to twist anyone's words and have no reason to think I just did so

Robert your right us red heads are a fiesty lot   :D but once you hit 50 i think you mellow some what  8)
Me and Judy have rubbed each other up the wrong way over the years but i think thats only because we have not met each other properly. I was so much hoping to see her at the tacca day, but when i spoke to her on the phone she said it was her birthday that weekend and she may struggle to make it, and also we could have lifted the sofa up together and thrown it at Derek ( it was too heavy for me on my own ;D)

All in all the feed back has been excellent from the day and i would say the best meet day so far.

I think the problem is the trex   in my opinion was not demonstrated very well don't think the heater was on on the etm well if it was its not very good  . I was very keen to see the etm as the concept is good the vac is good but would of been nice to see what it was like at 200 ft  not 50 ft tops.  No chmical feed which is odd and no real straight answer on if that would be added just a response to say it was not working prop so we took it off.  Has not put me off the concept but it needs time to develop I think

On sat you had a wide spectrum of cc s there and tbh I don't feel they made the most of it.

On the other note why should simon not fire up the titan glad he did as I don't think I would have much opportunity to see one in action otherwise and these are what these days are all about.

Its not pretending to compete with the likes of the Titan so i don't think they will be disappointed with their  demo at all  .  The better results with the T-rex  could be mostly down to high heat  though as mentioned .  That could be fixed with a variety or a combination of heat sources .  What they have achieved is to offer a low running cost alternative to an entry level TM ...  In USA tests its performance is the same as a 16HP / 33 blower .
They seem to be taking the concept serious in the states , even though  ' gas 'is cheap there , entry TMs are cheap and at 120v they have to plug into special 230v utility room sockets which are only available in some states .   So it makes even more sence in the UK  where running costs can be high, and we can plug it in almost anywhere without issues .
It might depend on your working area how practical it is to run cords  , i'd say about 90+% of houses / businesses in my area have parking to the door so no problem using .
