Title: Cant get on with Wfp hose reel
Post by: Avo on April 26, 2013, 05:46:22 pm
Not sure how I'm enjoying my hose reel since ditching my trolley system..
I get alot of coil overs flipping off it like its over full and reel weighs a ton " brodex reel " I seen a lad on wfp today and his reel looks mega light weight and the hose looked like 6mm.
Any tips please on what to do as I'm knew to van mounted systems?!?!
How to buy where to buy etc...

have you a pick of the reel ?

i've just changed from 8mm to 6mm hose and boy what a dream to use so very very light and slips
under gates so much easier

i've also upgraded to 'reel works'  reels - good quality and easy winding

new hose can be a pain for a few days esp if the weather is coldish - i used mine with hot this
time and has been excellent from job 1

avo get both reel and thermobore from gardiners.the hose is 6mm and very good.

the hose is managable and very tough and the reel is ultralight.

the new HEAVY DUTY gardiners QR hoselock metal fittings for the side of the reel are a must as well.NO LEAKS!! ;D ;D :D :D

Just looked on Gardiners website. It says 12mm outer diameter. Must be about the same size and weight as 8mm hose. The wight of 100m is hefty.

Thermobore is the same size as Microbore which is 6mm ID and 12mm OD. It is heavier though.

Oh. Ok. I thought the OD of microbore would be less. Dazmond, I am getting fed up of the weight of the reel and hose hence interested in microbore.

these are like my reels

and the hose i use is 6mm bore  11 O/d  -  micromore will be lighter than mini (8mm bore) as
your pulling a lot less water in side the hose
