Title: A Question of direction
Post by: Chris Cottrell on February 23, 2006, 10:08:05 pm
Ive put in a new 5 micron sediment filter in the r/o unit and a week later its as green as grass and I cant remember the last one going green so quick and dont know whether the previous sed filter did a bad job of filtering or what

Q. which way does water flow thro filters, from outside inwards or inside thro to outside  ?

if its outside thro inside then maybe new filter is filtering more than the old filter did

what do you think guys/girls?

Chris

Sorry Chris,

I've got a 4"x40" RO membrane.  Totally different system.
I can't help, other than my post keeping you at the top of the queue for a mo. ;)

Sorry mate, not the same science as mine.

Have you done all the pre flushing properly?

I've got got guages I use on mine to help me see if individual filters are functioning.  you need feedback from someone using your system.  There must be loads.  It's a good one

The water goes from outside to in.

Have you got your setup in direct light as algiae can grow very guick.

Clean out all fillter housings and cover with black bin bag.
