Title: 'dog earing'

excuse the ignorance again but ive just come across this expression of 'dog earing' could someone explain it please

THIS was new to me till I came on this site,and it does work,bend the
end of your squezze bar over a little, better still click on search
and the topic with pictures should come up

Turning the corners of the squeegee down towards the rubber to stop the rubber riding up over the mouldings, and leaving a trail of soap behind.

are you running an anti virus programme, i had the same problem on Autotrader, you need to adjust the settings within the programme (add blocking), well thats if you are using one.

Yes, just bend the corner of your channel over untill it just touches the rubber.
Make sure that your rubber only just protrudes from the end of your channel or it won't work. Dai

Also, cut the rubber at a slight angle outwards..........

thanks  lads will try tomorrow on a spare channel,saw lad who taught me to w/c today he been w/c for 19yrs & never heard of it or gg3 or half the things that get mentioned . this really is a good site. i always thought cumbria was nerve centre of universe, wrong again ;D i'll get back to my sheep

If anyones interested, here's how customize my squeegees.

The channel ends are cut off at an angle. This gets the squeegee right into corners on deep recess windows without having to line it up with the frame.

I don't 'dog ear' but I do very slightly bend the whole channel which gives the same result.

On the handle, I bend the bit that holds the channel out a bit so it's less claw shaped. This lets you finish off perfectly again on deep recess windows. The only problem with the last bit is that it isn't suited to pole work where the 'claw' comes in handy. I use a standard handle for that.

spent some time swearing & bending this morning not having seen a pic it was mostly guess work but end result seems to work very well. in fact i ended up working all day just to play with my new toy so ta very much to all.

 for L.doubtfire. sorry.  dont understand the channel cutting bit myself
just been tring to find out about dog earing
