recently i have been trying for alot of commercial work, and alot of companys have said '' we have a national contract''.
I have nothing against these big companys and obviously they have done well to get the contracts, however i carnt help but think...
- smaller business's would benefit from keeping good contracts locally
i think smaller business's would do a better job as usually the business owners are actually the ones cleaning and would make sure they do a good job( as i can imagine some bigger firms employ people and pay very average wages, and with average wages comes lazy, work shy, half a job workers.
If you can think of some positives for why the companys use national contracts then please tell me.. but i struggle to think of reasons why!?

0ne invoice for all sites - less time consuming for office staff and 1 payment per month instead of lots, same price for all sites, one contact regardless of where the site is, probably alot more but cant think of any at the mo

One nice big fat backhander

Agree with OEWC but it also prevents backhanders at store level.
There are benefits-just not to the guy doing the actual clean.

there are plenty of commercials that are not nationwide, all the commercial propertys i do are not chains,

Good point, But I do work for a small amount of national companies but have never paid a backhander, and I don't think I ever would unless they could give me a receipt

Its nothing to do with luck, just millions and millions of buildings to dip your bread

dave how much of your work has come from direct sales from yourself
or has a lot of your success been down to getting in with the right contacts, doing good job asking for referrals, asking for extra work
