The bloke whos normally sound says i had to clean them last week as they were filthy.i said sorry a couple of weeks late but you could have rang me.
I carry on cleaning them.
Then his mrs comes out and says your late blah blah blah.i say bad weather etc illness.
So she says if your late again dont bother we will do them ourselves so i said i tell you what do them yourselfs because im not doing them again.
She looked at me gone out.and goes to walk off.
So i said "enjoy cleaning your windows, smiled and said have a nice day."
Knocks on the door, her husband says see you next time.
I said no you wont you will be cleaning them from now on and walked off,too much on to waste my time coming here.

Spot on. I think he lost a good customer there. It's a lot better than "Oh, is it that time already!?"
-
Personally if I was going to be 2 weeks late cleaning their windows, I would let them know.
You shouldn't expect the customer to ring you.
-
Wish I had more customers like them, actually wanting me to turn up regularly, instead of the All-Ireland Messers Club that I have to deal with every day.
John.
-
You can pick them up again as bin cleaning custies ;D
-
It's impossible to be on time even when you are.
Too early too late.
Plus a few other moans thrown in.
Especially about its gonna rain now or it alwsys rains when you've
Come ::)roll

Oh yeah true along with the other 1062 bin custies at 3.50 a time every 4 weeks ;D
-
its your business ...............run to suit you
-
A customer came out today and said its not 4 weeks already you only just done them.
I replied no its 6 going on 7.
The same person used to be 8 weekly and complained that I wasn't doing them often enough.
Some people enjoy a good moan and nothing is ever good enough.

have to pick up on this - when i first started i booked every customer in - now my round considerably fuller its difficult to be calling/texting everyone especially if you have to re-schedule coz of weather. i rescheduled the same customer 5 times earlier this year coz of weather - so personally im with postee on this - they can always call me if their urgent. and your right maybe i dont ecpect them to call me unless they are urgent but at the same time im expect them to understand if there is bad weather you will be behind. -
irony is that when your on time in the winter you get that 'is it time already? response and if your not and the suns out then its completely different-lol

Why is it so difficult to text?? Bulk sending one message to all those that have a mobile takes about 10 seconds!! and as most people have one, I'm assuming that would apply to 99% of your customers.
There's nothing worse than a window cleaner who is unreliable.
-
you re-scheduled a customer 5 TIMES mark?? ??? ???
how the hell did you manage that??
i only text/phone the odd customer the night before for access etc and 9 times out of 10 i get round.the weather has to get REALLY bad before i reschedule a customer!but 5 times?? ??? ???
regards

textlocal.
takes some time to input all details on right days but well worth the time.
i use no reply option just use business name as sender on this with a preset message 160 characters or less.
u dont get the idiotic " the budgie is bad and i dont want him upset till after lunchtime when we both had our trill .scenarios this way "
as for 5 times rescheduling , thats a no from me also, if i need to weather wise reshedule i turn up next time regardless ,

All you need is a good relationship with your customers! now your customers and what they want and expect! and give it them it, no problem. ;-) ??

My default position is to take little nonsense from custies as "it does my head in" to use the professional term; however...
I have a long term custy from my trad days - a large bungalow set in 4 acres of Gloucestershire countryside which I cleaned at £30 every month along with their elderly mother's house at £10 a pop.
This custy is a surgeon and frankly I wouldn't want him anywhere near me as if the state of his untidy disorganised and unkempt house is anything to go by he'd probably leave half his tools inside me at the end of the op!
Anyhooooo, I stopped last year in June after 3 months non payment from custy and one month from elderly mother (who had been a prompt payer but who was now incompetant and relying on her son and d-i-l).
Anyway I knew they'd shout at some point as a similar event happened about five years ago and I took them back and put my price up from £20 to £30 with promises from them to be better payers. They are simply completely disorganised rather than malicious.
I have passed on work there to a window repairer friend who did a great job putting in new patio door cills and repairing misty panes and who got paid immediately and my daughter cuts the hair of the females in the house with no trouble - so an unusual situation calling for a more reasoned approach.
Anyway after about eight months, Dan the Man says to me something along the lines of "heard anything from Drs' XXXXXXX? Nope says I.
Last month my daughter tells me that they have spoken to her and realise their windows haven't been paid but that the elderly mum died and they wonder how much they owe.
I'm in hissyfit mode and thinking stuff'em - irritating ingrates, grrr etc. But Dan the Man says why don't you just drop them a letter outlining the debt and sorry mum's died etc.
So I do. It's for a £100. They ignore it. Yesterday I said to DtM what a waste of time that was and that if it wasn't for them being my daughter's hairdressing clients I'd tell 'em where to go etc.
Just looked at my on line payments and they've settled the account in the sum of £100.00. ;D
Now ... do I take 'em back on?

Yes take them back on,these type of people are so busy and paying the window cleaner is well down their list of priorities but i would imagine they would never leave a debt unpaid, dont take it to heart, its not personal. :)

Every 4 weeks.
Just under 4k.
First month will be paying all the canvassers.
Plan is to get 3 or 4 months payments after the first clean.

The canvassers have got you the custies already? You haven't paid them yet?? What firm was that ?
