Title: TDS Readings and filters

So I have set up my RO filter and tank, it is a 6month old system (streamline 300gpd http://streamlinesystems.info/node.php?id=188&catid=2[url=http://]]] (http://[/url)http://streamlinesystems.info/node.php?id=188&catid=2http:// ) that I believe has not been used much.
My tds reading straight from the tap is 235 and after is 003. I believe 005 and below is good to clean windows with. Should I get a DI system to bring it down to 000 or not bother?
Also when should I change my filters, will the tds start to increase if the filters need changing?
Just wanted to thank you all for your quick and helpful replies to my recent posts!! Setting up a pole system has been much easier thanks to the help of the knowledgable people of this forum! Thanks!

as for the tds of 3, its up to you if you want a di to knock it down to 000, 3 is ok to use.
the pre filters, i would change every 6 months, some change more regular.
the membranes should last probably 3-4 years, at a guess

Your R O is working well until you product water exceeds 10% of you taps tds. At that point you would need new membranes. If you are changing your prefilter regularly this should take some time.I would fit a D I so as and when your membrane get older and your T D S rises you are sure of good product water. At 3 TDS your resin will last a long time and not cost much.

Don't forget to flush your R O once a week.
My tds in tank is 005 and the D I takes it down to 000.
Resin lasts years.

000 is bull if you ask me  ;D ;D I used 25 on friday no problem at all and I even checked the jobs after .

Check them from the inside and they might look a bit different! With the warmer weather coming and the water drying really quickly it on the glass it is more likely to leave marks the higher the tds.

I did check them .

The one job I did the sun was blazing directly onto the glass that bad within say 30 seconds the windows were bone dry .
