Hi guys i'm jon. I'm in the process of starting out. i have a berlingo van but can anybody give me a list of what i will need to get going?
I am going to go for a trolley set up so any recommendations would be great.
I have already brought a carbon fibre pole from china. has anybody else done this? it has arrived and compared to other poles i have seen it looks to be a great pole and a lot cheaper than over here :)
So apart from pole and trolley what else should I be buying?
what will i need to purify?
all help appreciated.

Hey and welcome.
Tds meter to measure the solids in the water to see if you need RO or just resin to purify
Hope it goes well ;)

Your going to need some hand kit. Bucket, pad, squeegee and scrim

can i ask......................................................
why have you gone out and bought a pole without asking for an opinion on it?
then you are asking for advice on everything else ??? ??? ???
seems strange or is it just me ???

Customers are pretty important, so leaflets and other stationary designed to get them is a good idea. Also you'll need pure water so either buy it in or get an ro or di system.
As regards the pole, you pay what you get. Before you spend anymore mony though, I'd get some customers as its all pointless without them.
Simon.

I'd like to see the look on the custy's boat when they ask him to do the insides and all he can do is straight lines with his squeegee. Personally id be concerned about mugging myself right off.

don't go there mate your trying to run before u can walk stay trad for a couple of years then go pole u be wasting your money away u need customers to pay for your costs of running the system e.g water resin filters ro and to start with u need money to buy a decent system it wont happen if u got no customers i would go trad to start with find out if u actually like the job otherwise if u don't then u wont of lost any money on wfp do flyers see how much work u get do some research on areas around u find out how many window cleaners there are in your area because if there is a lot u will find it harder to get work then u will find yourself having to look for work further away i started out trad and done it for 5 years but i am now on pole as i am getting busier now and can afford the costs. its a long process mate getting customers hope this is not to disheartening for you and wish u luck. ;)

I started window cleaning for a company at the age of 16 35 years ago new window cleaners was called tumblers and was on about £30 a week and it took about 18 months before you was getting the same money as the window cleaners. You had to learn how to move and work on 30 foot ladders. You could tell if someone was a window cleaner just by the way they washed out there tools. If you come down to london and wanted to be a window cleaner in the city you would have to work in a cradle 30 floors up or do abseiling over the side of a building.I could go on and on. Iv have got wfp iv have got gardiner poles and use them when needed.
water fed polers clean houses.window cleaners can clean eveything. anyway good luck but if i was you i would go and work for someone for a year or so and be a real window cleaner.
