Hi. I am getting a water fed pole system with pump and hose, poles, di filter, 250l water container all built into a trailer. The trailer I am getting does not have pure water. I have access to a garage but it has no running water but could I bring water in containers to the site. I could also get a generator if electricity is needed. What set up would I require to purify the water I assume this is reverse osmosis. How would I set it up in my garage to get my water to 000tds? if it is at all possible. I am new to water fed pole systems but I am a mechanic by trade so have a good understanding of how things work but cant find the information I am looking for. If anyone can explain to me how it is set up or can it be set up in my garage, well any information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Ryan :)

firstly welcome to the forum,
i would suggest that 250 ltrs is not enough if you plan on wfping all day,
also what you are trying to do sounds a right pain in the arse, firstly get a tds meter, as you may not even need a ro, which would make things alot easier for you,

unless you have low tds then you will need an RO, so for the 250l you want you would need to take 750l to your garage.
at a bad to good ratio of 2:1 with 500l going straight to the drain.
also it will need a booster pump as no water pressure, and you would need power for 5+ hours (300gpd RO)
get a 300gpd, and a couple of 200l water butts with good lids at make water at home.

Yes you can if you have power.my set up is this. 100litre water butt with hoze lock water butt pump in butt, connected to RO unit , from 3 filters in RO go to booster pump for delivery to do resin container and from there to tank or barrels.IN my garden have water butts that I top up my water butt in garage with ,the waste water goes back from RO to garage water butt ,in effect I'm recycling the water but keep in mind my tads from rainwater is only 30 ish. AS the water goes down in the garge water butt I replenish from garden butts ,result ,no waste water which I hated on mains system and very green! The water butt pump is 300watts per hour so it not costing much leccy wise and all the water comes off my roof although I can switch to mains in garge if I need to.this is small scale operation but no reason why you couldn't have bigger butts(!!!!) in garge and garden.THis doesn't t seem to affe t memebranes as been in for ages .,probably over a year. Now but don't forget it's rainwater I'm recycling not mains ,my mains is 350 dd which I reckon would goose membranes doing this method very quick.I like no waste but when IV been doing this for a week or so I drain garge butt as tads gets up to 100 or so .

The most practical way is to find someone to sell you pure water. Having not power and no access to a tap is a big problem.

Thankyou for your replies. I think I may have a solution.... If I fit a hose from my main water supply to an RO and than from the RO into containers with the purer water and than store the water containers in my garage. I believe my water to be hard water as my mate says it is and I have a lot of drips on glass dishes after they have been rinsed and dried but I have a handheld tds in post so will soon know. If it is hard do I need to have the water go through the di process before going into containers or will the di filter fitted to the trailer be suffice. I believe the trailer is also fitted with a tds meter. Also will the water stay pure if it is stored in containers, if not how long can I store it? I like the method of recycling rain water and am certainly going to try something similar especially if the filters last longer. Does the resin also last longer? Thankyou for your response and if my above method will work than I think am in business. If it will not work please let me know also if I need 2 di filters or not. Thanks.

i just got my self set up with pole systerm but i dont have static tank i just plug mine straght into the back off my van my systerm its a all in one ro di tank pre filters so its easy just get home plug in turn on mains tap wait 3 hours done job mine is 250l to there is quite a few ways off doing it but that way works best for me u need to really look into what works for u to i think static tanks are a bit off a pain couse u need the space to put it but the good thing with static tanks is that if u run out off water u can go back and top your tank up quick but i still have alot who like there windows done trad so i dont always use my wfp systerm constanly just as and when i need it

Why dont you just produce your water at home and store your pure water in a green water butt then use a pump to transfer water to your trailer tank . Mike
