Title: Hose Reel Fittings
Post by: Paul H on April 10, 2013, 05:39:46 pm
have a pure freedom reel with 100 mtrs 8mm

The fitting on the side of the reel and the connecting feed hose (1/2 inch hose) have started to leak

I don't have outside ports so was thinking of  changing my feed hose to 8mm microbore and using gardiners connectors / fittings

1. Are they any good and will solve the leak albeit slight

2. By changing the feed hose to 8mm I'm thinking ill be able to shut the van door on it so as van can be locked ... Would this work ?

Or am just  ??? ???

Thanks
Paul

Paul i use some old pole hose with gardiners microbore to hozelock fitting which will connect in to your trolley  then use a hozelock style metal pole hose plug on the other end and connect to hose reel

I have a brass elbow with a small piece of 1/2" hose and hozelock end for pole hose plug connect to then you can lock van doors . Mike

See what you're saying

I was just looking at using some 8mm micro I have and adding the  suitable male / female hozelock connectors on each end ... Well was looking at gardiners QR fittings then looking at the 3/4 screw male fitting for the hose reel or the brass swivel if that's best

then I can bang the door shut on the 8 mm hose after lifted reel out

Well that's what I'm thinking ...
