Title: Cream Leather
Post by: Knocker on April 10, 2013, 04:53:20 pm
Hi Guys

I got a new car at Christmas that has a cream leather interior, it is driving me mad trying to keep the seats clean. The dye from my jeans is turning the seats blue.

I have two questions 1 what is the best product to clean the leather (I have been using Prochem leather cleaner)
and 2 is there any product I can put on the leather to stop the dye transfering from my jeans on to the seats?

1. Prochem is better than nothing but LTT, Furniture Clinic and Buffalo produce better products.
2. Not really. The protection creams will provide a small amount of protection but to the best of my knowledge there's nothing out there along the lines of anti stain protection for carpets.

Hi
You need to use a Jean & Dye Transfer Remover Kit to remove the dye that is present (we also have trade versions of these products).  Generally standard cleaners are not strong enough to remove this.
Once the problem has been sorted you need to use a leather protector (we have the only protector that is guaranteed for 12 months against dye transfer) and a regular maintenance cleaner that will then keep your seats free from dye transfer.

Hope ths helps

Not sure why you think there is nothing out there or preventing this - most leather protectors on the market are not effective but ours are tested and guaranteed on Aniline Leather and Auto Leather.
Cheers

Knocker, click on the website in Judy's  response to you and you'll find the product in question. I too have cream leather upholstery in my car, I simply do not drive wearing denim, it saves a lot of hassle. Mike
