Title: dog ear squeegee rubber
Post by: HampshireWindowCleaning on April 09, 2013, 04:43:39 pm
I don't do much trad, just a few bungalows and inside cleans, but I noticed someone mentioning on a youtube vid they dog ear their blades so you dont have to do any detailing. Anyone know what this is and if its any good.

I used to do my wagtail but seemed to burn blade tips out in two days flat.. It's good but still end up detailing the window through habit  ;D so don't bother these days!

Yes, it really helps if you're good at fanning. Dog earing isn't much good if you are just pulling water off the glass left to right etc. If you look on you tube, wagga has some good tips on Dog earing.

Another thing to try is, detail the edges of the glass with a cloth before you fan it. It's faster in some cases, and leaves zero water on the glass. Hope that makes sense.

I dog ear mine.
Hardly any detailing in fact some of the time I just wipe along the bottom of the window.
If I did all day trad I could get away with using one scrim. ;D
Not sure if this is down to dog earing because I've done it sinceiI first started.
