How often do you trad guys change your rubbers on your squeegees
-
New rubber every 2 days. Use one side one day and the other the next.
-
Was having dinner with a fellow windie last night and he's had his squeegee rubber in for 6 months - they wear back in apparently ;D ;D ;D
-
Every 2days for me too as it earns you money and a good reputation so why scrimp and save when they don't cost much! I use Ettore soft aswell so probably don't last as long as others but glide much better than others
-
about once a month for me.2 weeks one side,2 weeks the other.i dont trad that much work though.
-
every two days here too unless bad frames chore it up then its sooner
-
i do appreciate the comments but every two days i think is over kill, you should get at least a week out of them
saying all that i use wagtail rubber from this month onwards and that lasts a long time
-
Never tried the wagtail rubber might give it a go! As soon as a rubber starts to show a line it's changed straight away
-
I'm WFP but when i was trad i tried turning ettore rubber round but one side had ettore and logo on and found it caused problems on the glass is it me ::)roll ?
-
Never had a problem with Ettore rubbers but I know what you mean it happened with some others I used the logo was pressing on the glass and leaving marks!
-
Just had a nightmare week! been tradding for years and this week couldnt squeegee a thing. Never mind fanning I couldnt even get across the glass left to right!
I had changed my blade a couple of times and checked that the channel wasnt bent. In desperation went into Greenhams and bought a 12 and 14 channel and rubber, Unger soft rubber and hey ho back to normal.
I have always used Ettore and had just had a delivery of 6 new blades from my usual supplier, never had a problem before but maybe the blades this time were duff.
must say I'm faster with the soft rubber. usually change blades every three days
-
i always use unger soft all year round.just changed mine tonight as i have an inside clean booked in for 930am tomorrow! ;).clean water and detergent, new scraper blade and clean T mop sleeve!
£70 inside and out.usually takes me around 90 mins to clean then off to run of the mill outside domestics. ;) :) :).
i love my job!! :D :D
-
Ettore for me, I have used cheaper rubber in the past but found it a false economy. I use both sides and then cut down both ends to use on a smaller blade. I cant say how long a rubber will last I just change when needed.
-
When I was totally trad I used to change sides after 3 to 4 days then change rubber after about another 4. That was under soft.
Was asked to test the under ninja rubbers about 18 months back. Was really good for about a day, super soft then fell off rapidly....
-
my gang change rubbers after 2 days . lately been using Professional Squeegees rubber and am very pleased, enough to buy it in bulk of a gross
-
they last a lot longer in a ninger dont know y
-
Couldn't get on with the ninja squeegee at all
-
Two days ??? So 3 rubbers a week
See me being happy wiv my lad
Wanting a rubber every two days
Not got a clue some of you really
-
yeah id say changing rubbers every 2 days is overkill even if your 100% trad.
the truth is though once your rubber loses its sharp edge you waste time detailing and the quality of the clean can be affected.
-
Think it depends on how quick you are! If you are a fast trad cleaner then you are going to clean more windows than a slow trad cleaner thus change your rubbers more often. I get a day and a half out of one rubber, turn it round around 2ish on first day. I buy in bulk 100 at a time, pulex soft this time never again though. Either im getting more fussy or quality of rubbers getting worse.
-
what are you all doing ???? when i was 100% trad i changed rubber SIDES once a month at most , even now i know lads who go 2/3 month with no nicks or streaks - is it a water thing mebbe ?
