Title: Scratches sucesses
Post by: formb on April 08, 2013, 02:31:40 pm
I was asked to quote a builders clean for a construction company. I went round to quote it this morning and surprise surprise there are scratches on pretty much every pane.  >:( I explained to the site agent that I would not clean them without written agreement that the windows are already damaged.  ;)

He has asked me if I could quote for sorting the scratches.  :-\

I had a good look at most of them and they all seem pretty light. I couldn't catch my nail on any of them. There were no scratches on the hardened glass on the doors.

Has anyone got a definitive method for removing scratches? I have tried cirium oxide in the past to varying degrees of success, but just wanted to know if anyone on here has a better method? If not I'll just walk away.

Your paste is fine then just us a random orbital sander with a sponge mop. Take a look on You tube to see the method as it in vital the glass does not get hot or it will crack. You can buy the sander for about 50 quid from Machine mart. or a battery one from a company that sells kits. I have all the kit and never get the opportunity.

The paper doesnt absorb the paste and is smooth helps when rubbing scratches.

How much polishing? 2 minutes? 10 minutes? An hour?
