I have been wondering weather or not to join Woolsafe. Is it like the NCCA? can anyone give some advice as to weather its a worth while thing to do. I have been cleaning carpets and upholstery for 10 years now and am a member of the NCCA already.
-
I have never been asked if I am woolsafe certified in nearly 30 years of cleaning..
have you ever been asked?
What do you hope to gain from it?
-
Don't they endorse Rug Doctor?

They endorse vanish but deny that this product causes bleaching of carpets, strange that because even in my limited amount of time carpet cleaning, about four years now i have seen dozens of those little white marks appear usually on natural berbers when you ask the customer what they used, out comes the bottle of vanish every time, we all know it does this we see it all the time, but the people that make it have deep pockets and woolsafe approved helps sales and helps woolsafe, everyone's happy except the customer with white patches all over that nicely cleaned carpet.
And for that reason "i'm out" they have no credibilty, and that's not even taking into consideration they endorse "Rugdoctor" again they have money and that's what counts.
To be honest i am disappointed by the NCCA too when the BBC did rogue traders on carpet cleaners the NCCA were no where to be seen as an authoritative source.

James
They only endorse the cleaning agent not how it used or machinery as for the NCCA don’t think BBC asked them
Did you know

The fact the BBC didn't bother to ask them says a lot i think.
Is there a reason my home page is being displayed, there goes my google analytics for the month i get as many hits from cleanitup as i do from customers :P

James
I always check competitor’s sites out but look to the right AVG detection it may scare people of
By the way nice site

I did the Woolsafe course about 15 years ago and joined as a member, straight after passing the exam, but at the time the membership fee was approx £50 and a couple of years later they had doubled it to over £100 plus vat, Originaly they would not endorse Chemdry or any sort of bonnet cleaning on a wool carpet! but money talks, and a few years later they had put there seal of approval on it, That was it for me I came out of that asociation, it was a load of bolocks imo
-
It is a well paying family business....
-
Stuart
Are you saying they now endorse machinery?
-
Last discussion I had with them about endorsing systems was at the CCC and they weren't at that time but were considering it for the future.
-
i'll ask him on the 27th.
