Customer has called me today looking for help. Her friend has somehow got water based paint on a suede covered wall! She confirms that its real suede but apart from that I don't have much information. I said I would ask for advice, so if anyone could pass on any info that I can pass on ( except its fooked) would appreciate it, if you need any more info I will call her back,

Hi Tony, Il use some guess work here, I have seen suede look wallpaper, it was a thin faux suede just like the upholstery faux suede only thinner, it's also used on lampshades, waste paper bins ect. so I would suggest its very unlikely to be real suede, maybe it was expensive so she thinks its real? or she just read 'suede'.
My first thoughts on this are, the water based paint may come off easy, but is the reward worth the risk?
I would think as soon as you wet it, the moisture will go straight to the paper backing, once thats soggy you could pull off lumps of wallpaper.
This job is not worth the trouble, swerve this one.
But then sometimes I get these things wrong and the job turns out piece of cake. A whiz over with a CFR tool might be all it needs.

How much paint?
Did she have paint on her hand and touch the wall or did she kick a full can at the wall?
suede covered walls would cost more than a family car, does she live in a home that would spend that amount of money on wallpaper? I bet it is a suede look fabric.
Wall covers are usually hung with water based adhesives so over wetting could cause problems I would go with misting and white towels then if that don't work move up to the cfr, doing small areas then drying with a hair dryer.
Inform the client that there is a risk and they need to accept it

Been to see it and its a stain about an inch and a half long by 1/2 inch wide, it spilled when the painter was painting the cieling, is a suede,lightly padded panel, definitely feels like real suede and the property owner confirms this.
The painter tried to remove it with a cloth which has just spread it out!!
Not sure there is anything I can or want to do about.
Any ideas?

Leave well alone. If you tamper with it and make it even worse the focus will come off the painter and on to you.
