Hi all a little help please. Have got a job tomorrow 3 bed house end of Tennancy carpet clean. Empty property and dark wool mix carpets. No staining at all carpets only 6 months old. The only problem is the house stinks of curry. Should I put a deodoriser with the prespray to kill odour or put with fibre rinse in extraction tank?? Opinions please. Thanks john

Unfortunately the smell may not be restricted to the carpets but may have permeated the whole property.
-
Ozone machine or fogging might do it.
It wont be just in the carpets, the stink will stick itself to the wall paper, curtains, upholstery, woodwork etc
edit, john beat me too it.

I wonder if the tenancy agreement has anything written about odours? to me the odour is more damaging than leaving the property with holes in the walls... who wants to move into house stinking of curry?
-
Just out of interest, would an ozone machine or a foger (with a good chem) deal with this kind of problem?
Not had much experience with either.
-
Ozone generator will along with an air over, have done loads of these and always works a treat

I hear if you put a Naan bread in each room it absorbs the smell, Got that little nugget off Paul Moss

You guys are getting better, but us in the know, know that if you put a chinese take away in the middle of he room then it will neutralise the curry smell.
Oh and vice versa. ;)

Phewwww what an experience that was. Thanks for all your comments. On my way to the job I stopped at my local halal butchers for some advice. The answer a £0.99 bottle of white vinegar. I mixed with 50% water in pump up sprayer and wiped down all walls and surfaces. Took about an hour. Then cleaned carpets with windows open.. Just been back this morning before I handed keys back and the vinegar smell has been replaced by my mint and tea tree deodoriser. Curry gone!!! Result another add on to the business.

I heard that there was a big queue from the front door and around the block for fish and chips ;D
