hi guys looking to get a sebo duo i think ... as finding it hard going and not so good with broom.
any suggestions or is the sebo the only real choice?
any help be great . thanks :)

I wouldn't bother with the duo Mark, a bit lightweight.
I use an Oreck Orbitor, an Envirodri and a 13" Numatic rotary
-
a 17inch rotary I think gives the best scrub but you have to live with lugging it into the house and up the stairs,
the envirodry comes a close second and is easier to use

I have a Sebo, bit light weight as others have said, a Floormac (same as an Oreck) and gives great results and also an 15" Victor Sprite which is what i generally use now days as my primary agitation machine.
I find the 15" rotary a good all round performer better than a Floormac and would imagine more versatile than a 17" inch rotary and easier to get up the stairs. :)

Envirodry is my favourite on Domestics.
For larger areas then the rotary can come into its own, either agitating prior to bonneting or prior to HWE and then aid to dry with a Microfibre pad.
-
I'm using a 12 inch rotary ATM also have a Multiwash in the van I don't know which I prefer one or the other comes out of the van dependant on the carpet.

Good question Mark.
I have been using a sebo, but it doesn't always get the results I want.
I have a rotary, 15 inch numatic, if I use it for agitation should I use a bonnet or brush? (may be a stupid question!)
-
I have a Sebo duo and it can sometimes be a little "lightweight"
I also have an Oreck Orbiter with the option for either a black brush and pad holder for smaller bonnets
Finally there is always the 17" TCS rotary again with the option of brush or pad holder.
I am currently finding that agitating the pre-spray with a Texatherm pad is getting very good results.

Rotowash, its much better than my Duo. In fact I haven`t used the Sebo since I bought the Rotowash.

I have to say i love my TM5 machine and would never be without it, lifts hair and all sorts from the carpet and is perfect for agitating micro splitters such as SPM.
I also have a Sebo Duo which only gets used as a backup, I recently purchasd a Craftex carpet rake which is also excellent!

I've had broom, sebo duo, multiwash 440, rotowash r4, rotowash r3,rotowash r2, 17" rotary, 15" rotary, and a floormac.
For domestics with small rooms and longer pile the R2 is the business. For empty houses with similar carpets the r3 is good. A rotary and r4/440 are a bit too heavy to be lugging in and out on every job. The 15" rotary was ok (numatic loline), and at the moment I mostly use the foormac as it's so easy to carry around and does a decent job.
EDIT: Also had a TM5 but not for long before Russ had it off me! ;D

thankyou great replies
as awlays the moment you look into something and research a simple task becomes complicated...lol
as ost of youy have replied with orbital... i have also read that the contra rotating brushes on like a sebo or host which can agitate pre-spray give lift to the pile making hwe more effective and a faster drying time.
so hmmm sigh ... as on reading up on orbitals they can tend to squash the pile.
what say you guys? bottom line is id spend more on it if it had qualities for addtional use
or easier to use or just a long life expectancy.
also can you use an orbital on man made fibre carpets or will it melt it?
-
OP machines wont squash the pile, they'll lift it better than a rotary - and yes you can use on synthetics (prespray will lubricate the carpets)

I'm interested in a Floormac. What kind of brush or pad do you guys use with it for agitation?
thanks
-

I use the Orange brush on most jobs,I have got it quite flat as when I got it it was awkward to use.

I have been using a TM4 for last 10 years with
the white (hard) and black (soft) brushes.
A brilliant multi use machine that makes
my working day so much easier and gives fantastic results.
Best part of £2000 but you get what you
Pay for

Thanks Wayne. Is that the same brush that the orange Oreck brush to you can use on the Floormac? Is it the same fittings?
-
Yes, Tony.
-
As far as Im aware all Oreck brushes ect are the same as those used on Floormac.
The Floormac has a canister on which can hold prespray/spotter which can be pumped onto stains as you aggitate.I think this is makes the FMac better than the Oreck.

lol my last comment made me sound like Len! ;D
Cool thanks.
So do people use the wee canister? I thought it looked a bit gay but I can see that it might come in handy.
-
I like David use a TM4. Use the black brushes mostly. Its an expensive machine but it lifts the pile, agitates the pre spray in and saves on spotting as you can see the initial stains disappear.

I never use the canister, once when I first got it to check what it was like. I also use the black brush, I thought the orange brush was for hard floors

I use the cannister only on mingers,I fill with Power Burst and I must say you can see stains just dissappear as I aggitate and spray from the cannister.
