As title how do you get checked out and get paper work to show you haven't got a criminal record?
Local Police station?
Thanks lee.

No such thing as a CRB check anymore.
-
Yes there is ;D

I think you mean the name changed.
Found this anyone used?
How do you check if online company is real and not a scam?
Don't want to fall foul to id fraud.
-
Lee,
The company we use for CRB checks is 'Personnel Checks' based in Accrington, last time I used them it cost around £40 per person.
And unless its changed recently you will only be eligible to do the 'Basic Search'
-
Its now called a DBS check. My sons school need me to have one before I can volunteer for any activities, helping out etc. Very useful for work as well!
-
Unless you can get a limited company to do one for you, try volunteering for something.
If you 'need' one though, the company asking should carry it out
-
what is the crb check is it a certificate with convictions you show the company
-
We had our guys disclosure checked late last year as a new contract that we'd started for a council requested it.

This is the company you use?
Thanks feel better using someone recommended.
Richy crb or now dbs is a certificate showing you have no criminal convictions.
As i understand it being an individual applying for yourself you can only apply for the basic crb(dbs)
This will show no spent convictions as they say meaning i take it old criminal convictions after a certain time will not appear.
I have a clean sheet ;)
I thought that having CRB checked on leaflets and website would be a good thing.
From a cynical point of view this certificate would only insure that you had been a good citizen up to the day of it's issue :-\
But on the whole i think it's a good thing.
CRB, insured, smartly dressed etc.
Got to help ;D
Thanks everyone
