Title: TDS
Post by: all clean and pristine on April 02, 2013, 01:17:20 pm
Hi Guys I am new to WFP window cleaning and have a question that will probably sound stupid but please humour me.

I have made the pure water and tested it in the tank we have mounted in the Van ( Reading was 0).Its been in the tank not used for about 10 days, and this morning I checked the TDS again and its now 4ppm,

Is it normal that when left in tank the TDS increases.

Tds should not rise when in tank .

But 4ppm is fine to use . Mike

Mike thanks for your reply, I am a little baffled as to why the ppm has risen.

Did you transfer the water from a holding tank that read 0ppm
If so then there may be a little contamination in van tank
If you filtered water straight into van tank then there could have been a small amount of residue in tank that has broken down over a few days and caused the ppm to rise
4ppm is nothing to worry about, but if you're concerned about contamination then dump the water, flush through the van tank with some 0ppm and refill it

Thankyou for your Reply I am happy to use water at 4ppm but was curious why the reading has increased from zero but you answer makes a lot of sense.
Being a brand new tank I suppose there could possibly be the chance of contaminates present inside.
