If its the 1st time your going to clean with wfp then probably 2-3 hours with a flow of 2 litres per minute.
Optimum flow would be around 1.5 lpm though. (You'll have to get a jug, watch and adjust your flow setting until you get 1.5lpm.)
You could extend the water use if you are cleaning with a trolley or backpack. But with a van mount you will go through it quicker.
A few cleans down the road and you could get around 5 hours out of it. 6 if using backpack or trolley.

Depends on how well you use it,

Sometimes 250lt does me a whole day, other times I used nearly 350lts.

I would expect on first cleans you will manage 4 hrs as you need to give the top of the frames a really good scrub and a really good rinse .

Same goes for glass if you have a van mount tank get yourself 4 x 25 litre containers to allow you more water for a days work .

If you are using a trolley and need to go back home and top up then make sure you have a good transfer pump to refill fast same goes if you have a tank as well .

Some in Lidl for £39:99 . Mike

i use around 350-400L a day with a mega high flow rate and tradding some ground floor windows on a full days work.

ive  started to outgrow my van after nearly 3 years of wfp.

ill be putting a 500L tank in my next van for sure which will last me a full day.

where i find im running out of water is if i have a few dirty first cleans to fit in with my normal workload or a fascia/conny roof clean with no access to customers outside taps.

250L will do you if you just wfp the tops but you ll find after a few months its usually easier and faster to wfp the lot(but not always).

also trying to skimp on water with a lower flow rate will just slow you down which defeats the object of going wfp in the first place!!

We went WFP last August and over time have learnt the more water the the better the clean and the more efficiently  you can work.
IMO 250ltrs will not be enough. Remember its better to have too much than not enough!
If you can could you get a bigger tank??

Clarkes 1mm welding tips as jets in Gardiner brushes I can work from 8:30 to 5pm with 400 ltr tank and still have water left in tank for abit more work. Mike

ideally one man working a 6 hr shift on a brush, you would need at least 400L, if not feasible at the minute for a bigger tank have you got the room for 4-5 25L barrels as you can scource these quite cheaply

Tbh if its not been put in yet and you have the room I would try and get a bigger tank.
Running out of water is soooo frustrating ;D

50 litres per hour is a rule of thumb for one man on repeat clean domestic.

I'm running at about £1 per litre which probably doesn't help much as it's more a reflection of my pricing but on all maintenance cleans this seems to be my average.

Why do people order first, then ask?

I used to get through 350-400 litres per day and then discovered triggers which cut consumption by roughly one half.

Triggers and taps are rubbish.
Easier just to pinch the hose.no loops.
I think upto 35 houses is good for 500 litres.

I use 400 litres, 6.5 hours cleaning  with an Aquadapter and fan jets.

Used less when using pencil jets.

I respectfully disagree. You let go of the trigger and the water stops - even with my frazzled and low tech approach I fail to see a downside.

If you pinch the hose when a custy pays you how do you handle cash at the same time .

Using a tap is the best option imho . Mike

Very easy change is all in one pocket.hose in one hand and get with the other and you have less trouble with your hose as you have no stupid loop.

The loop is annoying - you're right. What I find good with the trigger though is, on maintenance cleans anyway,  the very fine control available - being able to clean the top half of a large window with the water running then turn the water off and scrub the rest of the window then rinse the whole thing, all instantaneous and with both hands on the pole - On long Summer days (If we ever get anyway) it reduces the amount of water used considerably. I used to pinch the hose but haven't been able to get the same control as a trigger. What we need for the loop is a fishing line reel type thing that keeps the pole hose secure - someone needs to invent one, someone in Cornwall perhaps ?

Hi James it will probably only last the morning on first cleans, however in the future 250L will do you a short day.

Ways that you can prolong the tank are

1, Trad the downstairs until you have all the first cleans out the way, this can help on the switch over as well with some fussy customers.

2, Get a water heater, you will use less hot water than cold water and also it's nicer on first cleans.  I noticed you are based in Essex, there's a guy in Basildon called Craig that fits them, he does a good job or you can purchase them off the internet cheaply and DIY.

Hope you enjoy the system, don't get to stressed with it.

Simon.

James, I have a 250l tank and 6 x 25l barrels. I got the 250l for free and although I now have a good round that could easily pay for the upgrade I have a lot of personal debt and just make do for the time being. If you have the chance now though to intercept your order, upgrade your tank to 400l. No way is 250 enough for a full day, especially if you have a flat tank.

Simon.    Good tips here Jim.  Another option is when needed just add another 150 or 250L tank  ;-) Adam
