All I know is you better R.E.S.P.E.C.T me!! The best cert there is!
My brother being a site manager, has a tonne of these Ian, some courses you can do online infact. Most will have a level one and which is a good starting point and then work through them from there. Worth pointing out that the certs stay with the person - so if you did the course you cant send an operative thinking its fine because you have the Certs, he doesnt. IPAF is cherry picker work and will involve a days training and testing. Bloke on ebay ive found before comes with a lift and can man it for £30ph. Hope that helps a bit.

i think for a sole operator ian if you wanted a nice background of h and s quals
either 1 of the safe contractor or chas accreditations
iosh managing safely 5 day course approx £495
and ipaf and them three should do a window cleaning company
only when you build to likes of dave morris size would nebosh gen or diploma and iso 9001 start becoming required when tendering for larger multiple contracts etc where you can have certain criteria ticked to give you higher score i think

dont quote me on being exact there but ive got a keen interest in h and s and have looked in to this for my business iso 9001 is a lot of paperwork year on year for audits and for a one man band certainly not worth the hassle its a bout having correct procedures in place like macdonalds use for frying chips no matter what resteraunt you go in the procedure will be followed etc
