Title: New houses post building cleans - what does it involve?
Post by: D4ch0l on March 27, 2013, 08:34:26 pm
Hi,

I was thinking about getting into post building cleaning of newly built houses. Therefore, I would like to ask few questions.

1. What does it involve?
I would expect removing labels from the windows and frames, removing paint marks, dusting, hoovering, window cleaning, but is there anything else I am missing?

2. What is the average price for post building clean of 2bed, 3bed houses?
Is the price normally higher or lower than for deep clean of the same size houses?

Any help, much appreciated.

You could add to that removal of builders slops from glass, brickwork, effervescense removal from brickwork

It can be a right pain. Paint and plaster on windows, paint off sockets, hinges, lights, deep clean on bathrooms the list is endless. We do them all the time some you win on some you lose that's just how it goes. It's worth doing if you have a few sites to go at.

I agree some you win and some you lose, We do some work for a developer and his men are generally considerate but if they lay slated flooring even if they cover it when they paint drips are a nightmare and time consuming.

New build cleaning can be very time consuming and a bit of a nightmare. However as long as you price it right and are prepared to work hard then they can be very profitable.
I mainly to carpet cleaning but was asked a while back by a customer to do some after build cleaning for a company who does up houses for a disabled charity. The first one was a real eye opener but you soon get into a routine of the best way to tackle them.
You need to be aware that you wont be left to get on with the cleaning, there is always builders, electricians, chippys and painters in the way doing something but as long as you can communicate with each other you will be alright.
