Title: Why does everyone say Brought?
Post by: Dave Willis on March 25, 2013, 10:28:04 pm
When you buy a pole you say you bought a pole, not brought it ???

Is it a Northern thing? Like people who use scrappers to scrape bird poo off glass ???

Very important issue that.

I didn't realise that everyone in the whole wide world and everyone on this forum and all people on the entire planet said 'brought' as opposed to 'bought' though.

Maybe it would be more accurate to state 'why do some on this forum use the word 'brought' etc?

Is it cos Northerners aren't so thick as to say brought when they've purchased something which has a different meaning entirely to bought?

As long as you understand. Remember you have a mix of people from well educated to near no education in this industry and there will be chaps who will have problems with the English. I am not surprised with an education that has no way to reinforce good teaching that changes every year. As long as the upper class have good schools all is well with our country.
