My new rotary arrived today, put it together with onboard tank and i was puzzled.
The solution line from the tank goes into the circular casing above the driveboard, it looks like the driveboard has holes that are designed to allow the solution through.
It looks to me that this is designed to work only with a brush as the brush will allow the solution through, unlike a pad, i expected the solution tank line to sit on top of the plate and spray directly onto the carpet, the way it is it will just soak into the back of the pad and simply wont penetrate the pad and reach the carpet. have i needlessly purchased an onboard tank ? as it is i will have to use my pump up sprayer instead.

Yep. It is only a gravity fed system.
You can use it while bonneting to keep the pad damp but you just need to open the valve for a fraction of a second. Tank comes into its own on hard floor work.

James
With the machine I just bought from Paul Moss he had done some kind of 'home modification', extending the solution line through the centre of the drive plate, so that the solution was fed straight onto the carpet.
Perhaps he'll explain it if you can catch him on here. A bit better than I am explaining it :)

I think it would be an easy job to fit one of these pump inline to the solution pipe under the tank

Then a second solution line leading to a bracket at the front of the rotory with a wide angled jet
Simple push button on the handle
Simple job and you have a powered sprayer on your rotory

Nice one Mike! Was thinking about pimping my Orbis, this could be the way forward. :)

Anyone actually done this, looks like a great idea.
