Title: Anyone working next week
Post by: pikeman on March 24, 2013, 07:02:16 pm
Would really like to work next week, but even if i dig the van out the side roads are appalling. I just cant see how it will be possible without getting stuck. Just wondered if anyone else is going out. Im in dudley west midlands.

I did some of this weeks work last week as I knew it wouldn't be a good week. The villages I have due are completely cut off at the moment! I have a day in town on Tuesday.

Happy to mess around this week and start again in April.

I'm in telford, so not far from Dudley. I WILL BE OUT!!!  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I have insides of offices and snow removal from solar panels jobs. Enough until the snow clears. Main roads are clear as a bell here, side roads not bad either. Council must have had a backlog of salt because they have gritted places that never normally get gritted.

I am not smug, just happy! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

no more snow but cold strong wind here.ill be out as ive got  a busy week this week as i want the whole week off next week.

as long as the snow/hail/sleet and heavy rain stay away ill be working all week.

its the cold strong wind that might be a bit of a problem but no way will i let it stop me working.

Everyone laughs at me in my bright red Gill sailing gear when it's raining, but I'm always dry working when they go home wet. They always laugh when I wear my Keela Andy pandy snowboarding gear when it's freezing cold and windy, but I am always warm working when they go home cold.

Will they laugh when I'm wearing ALL of it at the same time this week??? :-\ ??? :o ;D

Hi mr sparkle not too far from you upper gornal. Just too bad round the side streets like skating rings. Think it may be a week off. Just not worth getting stuck or even worse. Roll on spring oh it is. Roll on summer then. :)

Whats landrovers like on ice ? most places that have had the snow are now ice so how dos a landrover go on most 4x4 are good in snow but on ice is diffrent .

Been snow and ice here for the last 2 weeks. We have not stopped. They are ok on sheet ice, not perfect but waaaaay better than any van, they have a low box (never used) and diff locks which really make a difference on ice.

With most proper 4x4 you can select 4 low lock which changes the ratio of the engine all the wheels will turn at the same time .

With my L200 Trojan it  will move forward on tick over without touching the accelerator and if things are get really tricky i can engage rear diff lock as well .

But having all that will not stop you sliding on ice if you dont take care when driving . Mike
