Thanks Gav,
Richy,
Basically, the Federation of window cleaners sent an email saying to members, did they want to nominate any employees or themselves for the window cleaner of the year/company of the year, which would be decided by the people who run the federation.
I nominated one of my staff, and was asked would I be nominating myself, which in the end I did.
You where asked on to fill in a form, and say why you thought you would deserve to be put forward.
I basically put my own reasons and my experiences on the form and when I was at The NEC on Tuesday was awarded with this, which obviously I am really proud to have been awarded.
It is nice to know that you don't have to be a massive outfit to be rewarded and recognised, as I maintain very very high standards from myself and my staff.
I also value myself highly and will never lower my sights just to gain contracts or more work.
nice one chris was just wondering how it was measured and what reasons why they decided you should win, see you won it in 2011 too didnt you

Ben M,
The reason I don't comment on this forum normally regarding window cleaning is because of people like you.
Unlike you I obviously don't know everything and am not bitter and twisted to knock someone that has been recognised for a lot of hard work by a federation that I am a member of.
I never come on here boasting about how much work I have, how much I earn etc, and would never dream of negative comments towards someone.
As a lad, that grew up with nothing and was out trying to earn pocket money window cleaning at the age of 12, I was expelled from school and got a couple of customers and built up my round up, which I sold at the age of 17 to buy a pram for my son, as I had no money.
Since then I got another little round and saved up to buy a bit more work, and carried on like that until I invested everything into equipment for commercial window cleaning, and also educated myself into Health & Safety, and all training courses for myself and all my staff.
Even though I think I know a lot, after 30 years I NEVER believe or think I know everything, and for that reason I asked to have 10 minutes of a very big window cleaning company (who comes on this forum) for which I learnt and was appreciative of his time talking to me so I can learn more and help me better decisions in business.
So your comment saying what a joke is totally undeserved, and I know a lot of people on this forum that know I have worked very hard and I will offer my help to anyone if they need it.
So I don't know how long you have been in the business but I honestly don't reckon you have had it as hard as how I have (just my opinion)
You just keep on coming on a forum and coming out with negative stupid comments like you have, and see if you can win something next year, or the year after.
I will even offer my help, to help you answer the questions you will be asked if your a member of the federation.
-
Well played Chris, never knew about this but was good to bump into you again!
Glad your still at the top of your game...
-
Ben M,
can you please explain what the joke is ?
you can't nominate yourself it has to be someone else that nominates you because of your work and the person you are...anyone can big themselves up to be amazing! You honestly can't take it seriously!!
Anyway if you are happy, good for you ;)

Hi Mike,
nice to see you at The Show, and thanks for your positive comments unlike BEN M.
At least you know how hard I have worked, and when we met I even said I was pleased that you where doing well for yourself.
Do you know BEN M, because I reckon he must be big time in window cleaning to say "WHAT A JOKE"

-
BEN M,
it was open to ANYONE !!!!
ANYONE !!!!
do you understand that part = anyone
I do NOT big myself up like you say, I am just very good at my work, simple as that
Bit of advice Ben,
I had just 10 -20 minutes of a seriously big window cleaning directors time whilst at the show, so I could ask questions and try and learn, maybe you should do the same and that way you will learn more than you already know.
Just trying to offer you some good advice
-
There's always someone aint there
Most ppl in our trade can see the
Work Chris as put in over the years
ESP after the year he's just had
With his son being seriously ill
Take no notice Chris
-
I have no doubt that you deserve this award, just found it strange that you could nominated yourself....
Anyway well done mate :)
-
Archer is top dog when he's not harassing me every hour, lol!
-
Wow nice one Chris.
Well deserved in my opinion. I first met you only around 4 years ago and seen how your hard work and dedication has rewarded you with a very successful business you now have. It's nice to be recognised by what is regarded as a Professional organisation (and fellow windies).
I know you don't take the Loons and trolls on here too seriously. You know what you have achieved. You've been around long enough to know that some people view other's success with envy. They would make great press reporters for the gutter press. Knocking people when they're flying.
Good luck for the future mate.
-
but you are a man united fan....the fed obviously have little
or no taste in who they associate themselves with ;D
congrats :)
-
Thanks
-
Regardless of how or who nominated the individuals or companies for the award, it still remains that Archers were JUDGED to be the best of them. As Chris says, if you don't enter, you can't win.
Well done, now use this positive publicity to promote your business even further.
-
WELL DONE AND GOOD LUCK
-
but you are a man united fan....
Good man - me too! Seriously tho, we all need to help each other as you have done for others. At the mo I'm helping a local windy set up his system cos he wants to go water fed.
Keep up the good work!!
