What is the best way to offer existing customers a motive to get you new customers ?
If you employ a canvasser it is going to cost you double, and probably lose half !
I am thinking of offering £20 in cash for every new customer, because I think that is what it would take me to be bothered to recommend a service to friends and family.

A free clean. Up to the value of the new customers clean price and redeemable after the new custies 3rd clean.

+1 DG
Push it by saying 'the more you recommend, the more free cleans you get, there's no limit!'
-
Free clean when new one has had 2 cleans.
-
1 free clean for every new REGULAR customer.
I used to have this on my "your windows were cleaned today" slip and it got me about 6 new customers a year.
Reminds me to get it back on the slips :)
Some on here may say what if its a free £20 job for a £8 bungalow - so what over time it dont matter and with this job you have to think long term IMHO
-
I offer to give the cash value of the new clean to them. :)
-
Don't forget to put geographic boundaries in writing as you may have them all over the place.
-
The very very best way of getting reccomendations is to give a great service and do a quality clean ;)
we offer a half price clean to any existing customer who reccomends us and it leads to a regular 4 or 8 weekly clean - and they only get the 1/2 price once we have cleaned the new customer.
average RAF works out around 3 a month

We used to offer an incentive, £10 in M&S vouchers.
Then I read about the psychological effects of money and that people are less motivated if paid to do something rather than doing something because they want to. So we stopped.
We now get more referrals than before.

yep - no one is going to RAF a rubbish cleaner, however i have several 'old girls' that love the fact they
get a discount and actively go out getting more customers - now they would still reccomend without that
i'm sure but as they live on a pension every little helps
