I have leafleted in rain and snow and i don't find it makes much difference if they need a cleaner they will call.
The customers you get from leafleting in the snow and rain can turn out to be the best customers you can get ;) ;)

Im out this afternoon dropping a few hundred.

It's always nice to canvass during good weather, but not always possible. Go for it mate. I'm out canvassing shops in a bit. If you don't ask, you don't get ;)
-
Paul- cheers for the moral support mate, I think I'm going to need it ;D
Ian- tbh mate I seen you write that you were going out leafleting before an that's what gave me the idea. How many do you reckon you will be able to drop per hour in this weather?
Chris- good idea mate. Do you literally just walk in shops and ask if they want a quote?
Cheers lads

I work on approx 200 an hour in my head but prob more like 250 to 300 depending on houses / paths / gates etc
Weather like this prob 150 to be realistic so will open a new box of a thousand and take half out and just keep plugging away till all gone.
Want to build a round in a nice village near me of Higher Kinnerton where got nowt at moment but falls within my normal radius.
Also got pressure washing / conny cleaning etc on my leaflet so may get a few hits from it .... only got 19000 left to get thru ;D

I know what your saying mate but in my eyes you have got to work smarter not harder.....it's all good going out leafleting but I need to know if ill get a return on the time I put in in the freezing cold! Hence asking people if they have done it before and if its was worth it. I wouldn't mind getting 3 custies 2day, that would be worth it i reckon. What you going to do today daz? You can come over and give me a hand dropping leaflets if your bored mate ;) ;D ;) ;D

Yeah, I look at the shop front, work out how much I would charge, write it on the back of a buisness card of mine and walk in. Introduce myself and offer the card while asking if they'd like to be one of our custies. Numbers game. Same as knocking doors really.
The custies I get from this are "tick over" income when things are bad like now. It's nearly all 7 and 14 day jobs that keep a couple of hundred a month coming in. I've got a couple of shops that are monthly, but the rest are 7/14 days.

along lines of "were in area next week pressure washing a neighbour - we can do yours for £xxx whilst in area and a further 25% off if they let us video it for youtube"

making up for being lazy lasy when it came to growing the business last 18 months.
trying a few different things this year but windows still the no1 core job.
its down to discipline really like emailing so many business per day before I go out to work, getting out on time and working the rounds best to suit me, canvassing / leafletting every day even if its just 50 leaflets after a hard days graft, pushing the add ons to current customers, getting email address during day by phone to email the a letter of intro to the next day 3 a day 5 days a week is 780 a year doing hotels at the moment email is perfect as you get to the right person and once u have the correct email u can email them again and again till they buy or die or tell you to do one ;D ..
-
Im canvassing as we speak over in longfield while del is cleaning the days work and have picked up 6 4 weekly £20 jobs in less than half an hour. if your going to leaflet why no give the filthy ones and the ones you can see people are in a knock??.

Just got back, picked up one. All the rest have a card with a price written on the back. I expect a 1% to 3% hit rate normally. I dont ask tp see a manager if it's a small shop, just hand the card over while I introduce myself. I don't bother with the Dorothy Perkins or T_Online sort of chains as these have contracts to firms that provide maintenance cleaning of the whole complex etc. Apart from the fact that I'm looking for 10 to 15 minutes of work on each, not a couple of hours as some of the huge shops can take, if you know what I mean.
So it's, walk in, tell them who I am, hand over a card and wish them a pleasant weekend etc. Some ask for a price on the spot, some call later, some don't get back to us. Same as always. Some will, some won't, so what.
