Title: Solar Steve - Questions
Post by: dd on March 21, 2013, 07:21:58 pm
Hi Steve

1. Roughly how much water would you expect to use per panel on a 45 degree roof? (Looking at a 120 panel job).

2. Do you use hot or does cold water work perfectly well?

3. Any particular brush you recommend? Was thinking Gardiner sl flocked standard splay.

Thanks, dd

1. At least 2l per min

2. Warm is best, but cold will do with a high flow.

3. (http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/mzi_ad0fe099eac7b4b54b6a7ff12f36cbd6_50_50_ffffff_75.jpg) Thats a 45cm wide brush from gardiners

Alex answered it all, but just to add that it is not advisable to use HOT water on cold panels and vice versa.

OK, thanks guys.

Was actually wondering how much water I would need to clean 120 panels. I estimated using 4l per panel so would therefore use about 480l. My tank holds a little over 500l.

You'll be fine. Just make sure your RAMS is up to speed if you need one and you'll be ok.  :)
