when will it all end............more money to spend, the guilt if i dont buy one and keep up with the jones, the feeling of loneliness, isolation of "am i a dinosaur"while everyone is now earning copious amounts of money with there new poles while im stuck with the earlier version and slowly lagging behind

to me Gardiner poles are the new "trainers" you must have............or your not in the gang

WELL I AM A MAN AND I STAND ALONE >:(

i will have two but dont tell the wife ;D

Best is an interesting word and should always be qualified unless you are in advertising - which I suppose I am  :)

As I see it the SLX pole has, for a long time, been the best all round domestic pole. The Xtreme is the best overall pole (again IMO), but at its price level, could not be considered the best all round domestic pole for most users. There is my qualification on my use of the word 'best'.

Now qualify "better", as in the best just got better ?  ;D ;D

Not sure what you mean by textured.

It is important to remember that any pure carbon pole will produce black dust as the pole wears. Most carbon poles do not do this for the first few months of use, but will start to with time and wear - depending on the way the pole is looked after and used. There are other pole providers who assert that this does not happen - but they do, just give them a few months serious use. Often high level carbon poles (35-50ft) do not show this as much as in reality they are not subjected to the same wear that a 22ft carbon pole will receive doing domestic work.

If a pole produces dust less quickly then this will usually mean that it has had other material added which will add to weight and reduce rigidity or it is actually a hybrid pole and the wearing surfaces are a non-black colour fibre glass - either way it is not strictly speaking a pure carbon pole and as a result performance will be affected in some way.
