It's impossible to say, I'm afraid, as I don't run a business in parallel without prices on the website. I do it because I believe it helps but I cannot prove it. Sorry if that sounds odd but it's the mystery of running a business.

Why do you ask?
trying to decide if it works better
if they know the price when they call in then you must have a better chance of securing that customer rather than pricing blindly over the phone or wasting a trip to the house

95% of enquiries become customers.
However, I simply don't know how many don't phone because of the prices.
Sorry if it sounds vague. That's because it is.
One thing I like, though, is that I never have to go anywhere just to quote.

Hi, how often do you find that the jobs you turn up to clean the first time are underpriced compared to prices on your website? I have some 3 bedroom houses that have more windows than customers with 4 bedroom houses. I like the idea of putting prices on a website i think more people will go for it I know i would.
I'm just curious of the percentage of time you have to rise the original price after the first clean?
Thanks.

I designed a leaflet with a blank space for a price.
I would walk down the street and price each house as I went along and write it in the space. It didn't get me any more, or less, custys than my normal leaflet so I stopped doing it.

I don't put prices on either. Another thing I've found is, when I knock doors after leafleting, I rarely get "how much" as an answer. Personally, I'd always ask how much as my first question if I was door knocked, but I either get a "yes please" or "No thanks" as answers.
Putting prices on leaflets or web sites can lose a customer before you've had a chance to see the job. Just my experience, others may find different.

it can get the ones that like to know an idea before they call you though ... personally ive just started putting prices on website as nowadays only want top end prices for my area as quite full so anything now is icing on cake .. if I get a call I always ask have u seen our website ... http://www.h2oproclean.co.uk/window-cleaning/

I've tried both & here's what I found out:
If you display prices you get less calls/website contacts,.. I noticed a big drop - but the percentage of those calls that turned into jobs was very high & I had a lot less messers.
If you don't display prices you'll get more calls, but more messers & a smaller percentage will turn into loyal customers.
My advice - if you're starting out or want to build up your round quickly then don't display prices,... but if you're already established & just looking to replace custies who've died/moved without too much messing about then show your prices & "Pre-qualify" your enquiries. :)
