When starting your pressure washer up with a RTT Bypass on, and a bleed valve on the pump, whats the start up procedure,
Do you put the water inlet hosepipe into the washer inlet to get water flowing fully to get air out, then open the bleed valve .same with the lance via pull on trigger to get pressure out. When feeding washer from a static source ie. wheely bin
do you then take it out and fill the wheely bin up setting it up to feed from wheely bin with 3 metre suction hose with RTT hose and start up washer.
Its a stupid question to people who are used to starting up . im still a learner. i know you need to get all air out of the pump. :-\

Fill you bin ,connect your washer,,check unloader valve is fitted to HP pump (see your previous post entitled "water recirculation ")
open your bleed valve, put your high pressure & return hose back into the bin (no lance),run your machine for a couple of minutes with no load to warm up/expel air.
Drink coffee eat a little cake (see signiture) "
Turn off machine, connect lance or hose start work. Get spanked by Rob for not working hard enough, work harder, keep my eye on the water level in case i'm not getting 30lpm from my domestic tap.

theres nothing on previous post chris to show.
i have an outer bypass fitted rtt. so your saying with bin filled up, put in 3 m suction hose + rtt hose, connect heavy duty pressure hose withoul lance connected, open bleed valve, start up washer for the water flow to expell air out ,
what do you mean check unloader valve is fitted to the pump

this time next year chris ill be explaining this to to newbys i hope. ;) ;) if im still at it

Regarding previous post by your self entitled "water recirculation" here

I left one of our first pressure washers idling as we elevated to roof height, no bypass at all. By the time we had got in place the pump had blown a very big hole in itself. (modified) - This couldn't have taken any longer than three minutes!!!
Rob ;D"

Chris i dont know what you mean, that was by Rob, mine has a RTT BYPASS with a bleed valve added,
.yes so this is a 13 hp engine with a uh 2016 interpump so we can do outer bypass on this pump, another good idea is to fit a bleed valve as these high speed pumps can air lock when drawing water ,
this is the reason im getting a bleed valve
-
If you think about it, the gun is itself a bleed valve.
-
just fill wheely bin up,
place suction hose + RTT hose into bin,
open bleed valve
start engine @ low revs
water pushes out of bleed valve , close bleed valve,
leave engine running for a minute or two on low revs to warm up
switch off.
atatch lance start up and away you go.
Happy days i hope.

Yep..you got it although you forgot to drink coffee and eat cake during warming up period. This is vital to ongoing performance during the rest of the day.
Johnny remember to check "drainage" before you start, you are going to be putting a lot of water down and it needs to be going somewhere. Drainage is a very important part of the job that is often over looked.
Often on new builds the drains are higher than were the water collects and it's another job trying to get rid of it.
Spray the windows with fairy liquid mix first as well so the s**t don't stick.
Buy one of these for measuring up http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Silverline-Mini-Metric-Surveyors-Measuring-Wheel-New-/380592702582?pt=UK_Measuring_Tools_Levels&hash=item589d17c476 (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Silverline-Mini-Metric-Surveyors-Measuring-Wheel-New-/380592702582?pt=UK_Measuring_Tools_Levels&hash=item589d17c476)
Length X width gives you area in sqm . You then need a rate for the different things you clean, flags, block, tarmac etc.

cheers chris, forgot drain check for obstructions.
