A domain name has little or no value I wouldnt waste your time or energy if you are thinking of making money  off a name.

there is 1 way.....

find out the name of an up and coming star(let) buy a domain in their name, and put up a nasty pic of blood gore and guts etc ...

They will pay a fortune to get the domain, so that their reputation is not tarnished..

 ;D ;D

Only if they actually have the same name.

There was ac ourt case a couple of years ago where someone tried that stunt with Wayne Rooney. The judge ordered against them. Had their name also been Wayne Rooney, then that would have been fine.

You can have brand name domains taken off you and famous people would say their name is a brand. On the other hand I know someone with a trade marked product name for a successful product and someone just copied it and had a website in that name. His lawyer said he would probably win but if he lost it would be £50k plus the other guys expenses. So he just let it go.  :(

I can't remember which one but some brands have been going after affiliate sites that have their name somewhere in the domain.

This includes sites that were passing lots of custom to them. Then again, who ever met a lawyer with real world common sense?
