Title: Dilemma
Post by: davids3511 on March 11, 2013, 09:59:08 pm
Had a guy wander over 6 months ago for a price for his front only accross the road. I quoted £8.00 monthly and said I could have it done within the week. Great he said. Job was done that week.

That weekend we got an email from this guy stating he never asked us to clean the windows, just wanted a price. He also stated he would pay the £8.00 this time, which he never did. Numerous emails were sent, all ignored so I dropped it for the sake of £8.00.

Jump on 6 months and I have been leafletting again, the type you put in the window. Guess who has one in the window. How do I deal with this? He's either a total chancer or has mental health issues.

Put a note through and say when you get £8 for last clean you will think about cleaning them again!

I had a case recently with an ex-customer who owes me a fair chunk, but I cannot, and probably will never, get my money from her. She treats workers like her personal slave, and I sacked her off when I had had enough (not soon enough as I really try to see the good in people but she had gone too far with her mickey taking).

She saw me cleaning a few doors up, and called out to me to come over. I waved and called back 'OK'. When I finished the house I was doing, I loaded up and drove off.

Felt great!

I am back there this week. Looking forward to it.

£16 cash up front

Then if he pays you (highly unlikely)
Just wet the windows and be gone  ;)

I would go along with him then say first clean is always cash up front. Then if he paid I would not clean them.if not I would spray white wash on the windows and when he calls say I never cleaned them.

Why not send a mate round to quote him. Then don't clean them but get your mate to call round in the dark to collect. maybe he is too stupid to realize they were not cleaned and you get your money.
Either way it would be a laugh

Because she would come out with yet another excuse and I am not going to waste my breath on asking her.

I'd do the job and see if he pays the £8 just out of curiosity.

If he does and wants it done regular, I'd carry on provided he pays each time and just write the past off as one of those things.

If he doesn't pay, then I'd put a compliment slip through his door saying something like 'congratulations, you've ripped me off twice and I hope that makes your life a little bit happier' and then I'd forget it.

I had this Fella that would not pay.Got fed up of going to collect and he would not be in when we arranged a time.So I just put the Hose tail through the letter box and put a few liters into the lounge. That would dampen his B/S ideas down a bit. I just get so mad with people that mess me around and think they can get away with it. It does help the frustration a bit.Yes and don`t tell me its wrong we are not all angels.

He's winding you up. If he had done what he says he's done in the past he'd have been put on his back by now. He's an old duffer anyway is Smithie.

When he farts he follows through. He's got a bus pass, wears incontinence pants and hasn't got it up for decades.

UPDATE:

I was in her road again yesterday, and, yes you've guessed it, she called me over again!

I waved as before, and called out 'OK!'. To make sure I was going to call this time, she got in her car and drove over, repeating that she wants me to call.
I reminded her that she still owes me 60 euro for previous cleans. She said she will pay me, to which I tell her that I will do them when the money is in my hand. She agrees.

When I get to her house, she points out that one of her spot light bulbs in her fascia boards needs changing, so can I change it for her. I say 'yes, when I have been paid'. She says 'It's only a bulb', to which I reply 'and it's my time'.
'But you will be doing the windows as well!' says she. 'When I have been paid', says I, adding 'I'm sorry if I sound harsh, but I've been screwed over too many times, and I cannot afford to work for nothing.'

The upshot of this is that I still didn't get my money (I didn't expect to) but she still has a duff fascia spot light, dirty windows and no mug to clean them.

I feel even better than I did last time.  ;D ;D ;D
